I wake up excited because today is the day Dahyun will start working at the cafe! For some reason, I feel really excited to see her almost everyday... Everytine I think about it I feel like I'm gonna get a heart attack. Weird.
Anyways, I jump out of bed and get ready as fast as I can.
As I hastily get ready for the day, my excitement grows with every passing second. The thought of Dahyun starting work at the cafe fills me with a strange mixture of anticipation and nervousness. I can't help but wonder why I feel this way, as if my heart is racing at the mere thought of seeing her.
I quickly put on my favorite outfit, making sure to look presentable for the day ahead. Checking myself in the mirror, I give myself a reassuring nod before grabbing my belongings and heading out the door.
As I step out of my apartment, ready to embark on a day filled with excitement and the prospect of seeing Dahyun, my euphoria is abruptly interrupted by an unexpected presence at my door. It's Sana, standing there with a determined expression on her face.
Confusion and surprise wash over me as Sana speaks, her voice filled with an unusual sense of urgency. "Y/n, get into my car. I'm taking you to my company."
"Excuse me?" I'm confused, "Why would I get into your car let alone go to your company, I barely know you."
"You said that your studying business, come to work with me for a day, you can get experience," Sana coldly states.
"I mean yea I studying business, but I already have experience, I have a goddam shop I don't think I need anymore experience," I say with air quotes around the word experience.
I stand my ground, feeling a surge of defiance mixed with confusion at Sana's unexpected proposition. The audacity of her request strikes me, and I can't help but question her motives.
"I appreciate the offer, Sana, but I already have hands-on experience running my own coffee shop," I reply firmly, emphasizing the word "experience" once again. "I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve by bringing me to your company."
Sana's expression remains cold and unreadable, her eyes fixed on me. "You may have your little shop, but there's more to the business world than that. You could learn a lot from seeing how things operate on a larger scale."
A flicker of irritation surfaces within me. Who does she think she is, assuming that her company holds the key to unlocking some profound knowledge? Nevertheless, I hate her I'm not going anywhere with her.
As Sana's words hang in the air, my irritation intensifies. Who does she think she is, belittling my coffee shop and assuming that her company holds some superior knowledge? The audacity of her arrogance fuels a stubborn defiance within me.
"I appreciate your offer, Sana, but I have no intention of going to your company," I say firmly, my voice tinged with frustration. "I'm content with the knowledge and experience I've gained from running my own business. I don't need to prove myself to anyone, especially not to you."
Sana's cold gaze wavers slightly, her confidence momentarily shaken. However, she quickly regains her composure, a steely determination replacing any sign of doubt.
As I firmly reject Sana's offer and make my way back to the cafe, a small part of me can't shake off the feeling that she might not let it go so easily. I can sense her presence lingering behind me, like an unwelcome shadow following my every step. Turning my head slightly, I catch a glimpse of her in my peripheral vision, silently trailing behind.
Annoyance prickles at my nerves. What does she want now? Is she not going to take no for an answer? I quicken my pace, hoping to put some distance between us and regain a sense of privacy. However, no matter how fast I walk, Sana manages to maintain her persistence, never too far behind.
Reaching the familiar entrance of the cafe, I slip inside and close the door, hoping that will deter her. But to my surprise, Sana follows suit, entering the cafe without hesitation. The determination in her eyes is unwavering, and it becomes clear that she's not going to give up easily.
Taking a deep breath, I decide to confront her head-on. "Sana, what are you doing here?" I ask, trying to keep my voice steady despite the annoyance bubbling within me.
Sana's gaze locks onto mine, her expression unreadable. "I told you, Y/n. I'm not letting this go. I believe there's something valuable we could learn from each other. Let me prove it to you."
I cross my arms, a mix of skepticism and curiosity coursing through me. "And what exactly do you think we could learn from each other? I'm content with how things are."
A hint of a smile tugs at the corners of Sana's lips. "There's always room for growth, Y/n. Together, we could explore new ideas, challenge ourselves, and expand our horizons. I've seen your dedication and passion for your coffee shop, and I believe our collaboration could lead to something remarkable."
Despite my initial resistance, Sana's words begin to stir something within me. Perhaps there is merit in her proposition. Maybe there's more to gain by keeping an open mind and embracing unexpected opportunities. The thought of expanding my horizons and pushing the boundaries of my own limitations ignites a spark of excitement deep within.
I uncross my arms and let out a sigh. "Alright, Sana. I'll hear you out. But know that I won't compromise my values or lose sight of what truly matters to me."
Sana's eyes light up with a mix of satisfaction and anticipation. "Deal," she says, extending her hand for a shake. "
I shake her hand.
Sana smiles a confident smile, "I'll meet you in my car" and with that she turns on her heel and starts walking towards her car.
"Hold on, I never said I'd come to work with you today," I yell to her.
Sana pauses mid-step, her confident smile faltering slightly. She turns back to face me, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion. "Wait, didn't you agree to come with me? We shook on it."
"Well yea, but," I try to explain, "I never said today, besides I'm busy, we have a new girl starting today."
Sana's expression tightens, a flicker of jealousy flashing across her face. She tries to hide it, but I can sense the tension in her demeanor. Her disappointment from my refusal to join her at the office seems to have transformed into something deeper.
"Well, if that's what's important to you," Sana says, her voice tinged with a hint of coolness. "I hope your new girl lives up to your expectations."
I can't help but notice the slight edge in her tone. It's clear that Sana's feelings have been stirred, and her jealousy is now palpable. As much as I want to address it, I decide to focus on the task at hand, not wanting to escalate the situation further.
