As the early morning sunlight streams through the windows of the cafe, I prepare for another busy day of serving customers. The familiar aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, and I greet each customer with a warm smile.Just as I'm about to take another order, I hear a familiar voice call out my name. I turn around and see Haechan, a fellow college student from my economics class, standing in line.
"Hey, Y/n!" Haechan says cheerfully, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Didn't expect to see you here, are you a part timer?"
"I actually own this shop," I smile.
Haechan's eyes widen in surprise, and he looks around the cafe with newfound appreciation. "No way! That's impressive, Y/n. I had no idea you were running your own business. Congratulations!"
I shrug modestly, feeling a mix of pride and humility. "Thanks, Haechan. It's been quite a journey, but I'm enjoying every moment of it. Owning a coffee shop has always been a dream of mine."
Haechan joins me at the counter, still amazed by the revelation. "Well, I must say, you've done an incredible job. The atmosphere here is so inviting, and the coffee is top-notch. I'm definitely coming here more often."
I laugh, appreciating his support. "I'll make sure to save a special seat just for you, Haechan. Now, what can I get you today?"
Haechan looks at the menu board, contemplating his options. "Hmm, I'll have a caramel macchiato, please. Extra caramel, of course."
I nod, preparing his order with practiced ease. As I hand him the cup, he takes a sip and lets out a satisfied sigh. "This is delicious, Y/n. You truly have a gift for this."
"Thank you," I reply warmly. "It means a lot coming from you. So, how's everything going with Ms. Seungwan's class? Are we ready for the final project presentation?"
Haechan groans playfully, rolling his eyes. "Don't remind me. It's been a whirlwind of late-night research and endless calculations. But I have faith in our abilities. We're going to ace it, just like we always do."
As we chat about our project, sharing ideas and discussing our strategies, I notice a familiar face waiting in line behind Haechan. It's Sana, wearing a soft smile as she patiently waits her turn.
Sana steps forward, greeting me with unsettling warmth.
I smirk, "You know, after that night I would've expected you to not return."
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Sana pretends not to recall the events of thatchernight.
I raise an eyebrow, not buying into Sana's feigned ignorance. "Really? Because I distinctly remember you yelling at me and storming off. It's hard to forget."
Sana gives me a blank stare.
"Alright then," I reply, a hint of skepticism still evident in my voice. "What can I get for you today, Sana?"
Sana smiles brightly, seemingly unaffected by the tension between us. "I'll have my usual, please. A vanilla latte with no foam."
I nod and start preparing her drink, focusing on the task at hand. As I work, Sana leans against the counter, her eyes wandering around the bustling coffee shop.
"So, Y/n," Sana begins, her tone casual. "I couldn't help but notice you're studying business. Are you interested in pursuing a career in that field?"
"Something like that," I answer keeping my eyes focused on making the perfect not so latte.
