"I overheard you two at the Sports Festival," Bakugo stated and Midoriya's face went pale. "That seemed pretty significant to me."
"You heard us?!" he began to panic.
"Midoriya, whatever you know may help us figure out what is wrong with Todoroki," Aizawa told him gently.
"I... Todoroki begged me not to tell anyone..." he had tears in his eyes.
"Midoriya..." All Might said quietly, "We all want to help him..."
Izuku took a deep breath, before sitting up straighter. "At the Sports Festival... Todoroki refused to use his fire side. This was because he hates his father. Endeavor... he married Todoroki's mom because she had an ice quirk. He wanted to have children that had both of their quirks."
"Quirk marriages have been illegal for years!" Sero yelled in anger.
"Endeavor used his standing as a pro hero to get around it." he continued. "Todoroki has three older siblings that he wasn't allowed to see growing up. His father believed that they were below Todoroki because he was the only one with both quirks."
"That's awful..." Koda was tearing up.
"Ever since his quirk manifested, Endeavor has trained him constantly, and brutally. He didn't say it outright but..." he was tearing up again, "By the way it sounds... it sounds like his father may be using excessive training... as a way of abusing him..." they all gasped. Aizawa and All Might were absolutely seething.
"Did... did Endeavor give Todoroki his scar...?" Tokoyami asked in horror.
"No..." Izuku looked down. "His mother did..." they gasped again. "It sounds like Endeavor's abuse extended to her too. When Todoroki was five... she kind of... snapped. She said that his left side reminded her of his father, so she took a tea kettle and poured boiling water on him. After that, Endeavor had her locked up in a mental hospital and Todoroki has only recently been able to see her again. I'm sorry... that was a lot..."
Everyone remained quiet, besides a few sniffles here and there.
Aizawa was glaring off into the distance. "We're going to fix this..."
