SOTC: Never Be The Same by Camilla Cabello
"I have no words," Xerxes just gasped for the bazillionth time. "Just... wow."
I, on the other hand, just continued to giggle.
Xerxes and I laid underneath the sheets of his bed. The room had darkened completely, the only light being the flickering of the electronic fireplace across from the bed. We chose this time to marvel over how we killed the most virgin priests within a million foot radius just thirty minutes ago.
"I have to say it: what was the creator of humans thinking when they were going to have eighty percent of soulmates have sex on the thirtieth day?" I said.
"I don't think the creator quite foreshadowed mind-blowing banging in the same room someone attempted suicide in beforehand," Xerxes pointed out, stretching out his arms to flop them on the bed.
"I didn't foreshadow learning I loved myself, finding out the dude who kidnapped me was my soulmate, and popping my cherry in less than an hour."
He chuckled. "Maybe Zeus was testing out a new kink."
"Xerxes, that's messed up," I said through a chuckle, adjusting the sheets on my chest.
"What happened thirty minutes ago is barely comparable."
"True." Suddenly, I gasped, "Wait, what if we're in a Wattpad novella?"
"What's a Wattpad?"
"It's like a free-reign writing site."
Xerxes snorted. "There is no one on this globe with that many screws loose to write this."
"You never know."
"Ok fine." He took a breath, placing his hands on the part of the comforter covering his upper body. "How would one describe the in-between time of you walking in here to being in my sheets in less than ten words?"
"Shooting my head to get in my bed."
"Going in the ground to five different rounds," Xerxes challenged.
"Heaven's the new addy to fuck me daddy."
"I'm dying to 69-ing."
I pointed at him. "He's got demons to no more semen."
"I regret me to my balls are empty."
I cackled out until Xerxes traced the edge of my jawline, his eyes flickering from the sight of mine as he whispered:
"What made you finally love yourself?"
I took his image in before I whispered, "I realized the past withered when I let it. Simple as that."
"Well, thank you for doing that." Xerxes's congested laugh broke up his whisper. "And thank you..." He rubbed the black swan imprinted on my and everyone in this world's arm. "Just thank you, thank you, thank yo—"
I took the words out of his mouth with the kiss of my lips. Xerxes inhaled as his own moved with mine in sync before we pulled away, knowing no words on this turning globe needed to breathe except:
"Hey, what's going to happen in the morning if someone find us naked in bed?" I asked.
"We'll twerk it out."
