Two Years Later

"Johnny!" Simon shook him awake, startling him.

"Wha? What? What?" he muttered, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.

He scoffed. "You said you'd be up in ten minutes!"

"Aye, and I will."

"You said that an hour ago!"

"Fuck, did I?" John shot upright, stumbling out of bed.

"Yes, I had to open without you." Simon sighed, leaning against the doorframe.

"I'm sorry baby, I'll make it up to you." The Scotsman tripped over himself as he struggled into his clothes, placing a kiss on Simon's cheek.

Simon smiled. He could never stay mad at Johnny for long. "You'd better, now come on. We've got customers."

"We always do," John beamed, shoving his feet into his shoes and rushing down the stairs.

Taking his place behind the bar, he smiled and chatted with patrons as he mixed drinks.

Price had kept his word. He bought MacTavish and Riley a whole bloody bar, with the help of the rest of 141, of course. It took them several months to fix up the place and get it up and running, but now that they had, business was booming.

John was always behind the bar, talking to people and making the environment a comfortable one. He loved it.

Simon sometimes joined him in making drinks, but he wasn't too good at it. So instead, he managed the place and cleaned tables.

Price came in every weekend to chat with the two, and see how they were doing. They always ended up keeping him after closing, and just talking for a while. Occasionally Gaz or Laswell would join him, but Price always came.

Every night after closing, John and Simon would sit at the bar and simply talk. It was one of their favourite nightly traditions. They truly loved one another, and anyone who looked at them could see it.

They had gotten married, of course. It was a small affair, the couple only invited Price, Laswell and a few others. Everyone ended up crying, Simon included.

Immediately after the ceremony, Price gave both men the option to retire, which they readily accepted. No need to put one another at risk anymore.

The nightmares still plagued them both, but now they were few and far between.

Whenever Simon had the misfortune of a nightmare, Johnny would be quick to embrace him, and remind him that he is safe.

John, though, always had a rougher time coming out of it. Simon didn't mind. He was more than willing to stay beside Johnny and calm him down.

They loved one another. And that was all they needed.
