Maya was finishing up in the locker room packing her cheer bag. All the other girls were leaving making her the last one out of the room.

As she walked down the empty hallways she realized that she left her biology book in her locker. Putting her headphones on she headed in that direction.

As she opened her locker a note suddenly fell on the floor. She looked around her to see if anyone was nearby that may have slipped it in.

She opened the letter and her eyes skimmed past the words. Bile rose up in her throat as she read them.

I still know what you did last summer Maya, I'm not going away

She was so focused on the letter she didn't notice the large figure standing behind her. They wrapped their arms around the girl. She quickly turned around revealing that it was her boyfriend Chad.

She sighed in relief, putting on a façade that everything was alright to refuse raising his suspicion even more since last night.

While Chad was over last night he noticed the girl tense up at every noise she heard. He was concerned that something was bothering her but every time he asked her if everything was alright she would just smile and nod.

" Ew you stink get off of me" Maya laughs as she pushes him away and takes off her headphones. Chad just got back from football practice which has caused him to be a sweaty mess.

"Don't act like you don't love it" he said as he continued to chase her out of the school.

As they exit the school she turns to him abruptly "Who in their right mind likes the smell of their boyfriend's sweaty body odors"

"You, because you love me very much and don't care about what state I am in you'll love me anyway"

"Oh will I now!" maya says as she opens the door to her car but before getting in she turns to kiss Chad.

"Come to mine later?" he asks through the open window of her car.

Maya shakes her head "I can't I promised I'd hang out with Wes tonight."

"Noooo why" Chad moans.

"Perks of having a cool girlfriend C. Love you," she says as she starts up the car.

" Love you too M," he says waving her goodbye.

As she drives off she gets a ping letting her know a message had just come through on her phone.

She assumes that it is Wes letting her know what time to come down. She decided to leave the message until she got home.

She pulled up in the driveway of her empty house. Her mother was never around she was always working in the hospital. Her father passed away when she was four. She was always alone in there.

As she checks the message she realizes she was wrong about who was texting her when she saw that it was an unknown number. Fuck

Unknown Number

It was a photo of her and Chad kissing in the parking lot of the school.

Aww so cute. I'm going to make you watch him suffer before I get to you.

Maya felt the rage build up inside of her until she couldn't help but release it onto the steering wheel in front of her. "Fuck, Shit, Motherfucker, Fuck me!" Maya listed out almost every curse word in the dictionary before deciding she might look crazy to the neighbors and that she should head inside.

As she stepped into the house she got an eerie feeling. This person was stalking her. What if they got into the house before she got home? She cautiously checked around the bottom floor before deciding to head upstairs to check the rest of the house.

She left her bedroom till last. As she stepped in she automatically saw the chaos within the room. Her whole room was trashed. All her books were torn to pieces, her bedsheets ripped apart, all her cheer trophies smashed on the floor, photos of her and her friends shredded, and finally her mirror.

Her mirror had the word 'soon' written on it. It referenced her favorite movie which was quickly becoming her least favorite movie. However, she wasn't going to pull a Helen and smash it out of rage. Unlike Helen, Maya knew that wasn't going to solve any problems. It would only leave her with a few cuts and one less mirror.

She ultimately decided to pack a bag and head to Wes' house. He didn't give her the heads up to come over yet but she didn't care. She knew he wouldn't refuse her entry into his humble abode.

She couldn't face staying in the house alone anymore. That psycho could be watching her right now. She quickly changed into a comfy tracksuit and made her way over to her best friend's house.

Hopefully, he could help her forget about this dreadful situation.
