Scream For Me (Scream 5)- Chad Meeks

As the group entered the hospital. Maya's heart stopped. The last time they were in this place was when Lily passed away. It brought way too many bad memories.

As she zoned out someone grabbed her hand. She turned to see Amber smiling at her. Maya hated that she was so weak. Amber was the one that lost her sister yet she was comforting Maya.

She didn't just feel weak, she felt guilty for the events that took place that night. Maya would never forgive herself for it.

They walked down the hallways trying to seek out Tara's room. Chad close behind Maya not bothering her while she talks to Amber but wanting to be nearby if she needed him. He knew how much pain this place was bringing her.

They made it to Tara's door. Maya was the first one to enter the room. She looked towards the bed and saw Tara sitting up waiting for her friends.

Maya runs over to her friend hugging her but making sure not to put any pressure on her wounds.

"How are you? Wait that was a dumb question. Don't answer that." She says while wrapped in the girl's arms.

Tara laughs and answers "I'm ok, M." Maya knew she was lying so she held her hand for a bit and then stepped aside to let Amber talk to the girl.

Maya sat in a seat while everyone gave Tara a hug. After a few minutes, everyone was sitting in a row of seats facing Tara.

As the others held up a conversation with Tara, Maya zoned out for a few minutes listening to the beeps of the monitor.

Beep. Beep. Beep

Maya sat in the seat beside Amber. It was the day after the accident. Lily had shown no sign of recovery and was actually getting worse. Amber and Lily's parents entered the room and looked over towards the two girls who had yet to move from lily's side.

"Maybe you girls should go grab something to eat. You guys have been sitting here all day and all night." Amber and Lily's mom said.

The girls looked over at each other and they both nod agreeing. They needed to grab some fresh air.

There was a subway beside the hospital so they headed there. Grabbing some food that they could barely eat without feeling sick with worry.

Maya decided to bring up some happy memories of Lily. "Hey remember that time when Lily snuck out of the house to go to a party and asked us to cover for her but we ended up scaring the shit out of her pretending your parents found out."

Amber let out a short laugh in response. "Yeah, she ran back home shitfaced. She didn't speak to us for a week after that." There was a long silence before the freeman girl spoke up again.

"I don't know what I'm going to do if she dies Maya, I'm so scared." Amber let a tear roll down her face.

"I know Amber, I'm here for you," Maya said but in all honesty, she was also scared. Lily was her best friend.

The girls finish up their barely touched sandwiches and head back to the hospital. As the elevator doors shut there was peace and quiet within the bottom floor, but as the elevator opened on Lily's floor there was complete chaos.

Doctors and nurses ran into Lily's room one after another. The sounds of wailing came from the parents. The word 'clear' being repeated over and over again.

Amber ran up to her parents asking what was going on but she had a good idea as to what was happening.

By the time Maya got to the door the sound of a long continuous beep ringing out filled the hallways.

"Time of death. Four Fifty-Six" The doctor called out from beside Lily's bed.

The sounds of fading wails coming from beside her as she just stares at the now empty vessel that she once called Lily.

The guilt filled her now more than ever.

She was brought back to reality when Tara's door opened wide revealing Samantha Carpenter and some random guy.

The group stood up when she entered the room. Chad grabbed his girlfriend's hand who stood beside him.

Sam automatically looked over at her sister in the bed. A look of worry painted on her face.

"How are you feeling?" she asks bending down beside her sister.

"You came," Tara said happy to see her sister.

Sam held her sisters arm. "Of course, I came."

Finally, Sam introduced the random guy in the room as her boyfriend, Richie.

Richie greets tara. "It's so nice to meet you. I'm so sorry if I'm intruding."

"Nice to meet you too," Tara replied.

Sam finally makes her way over to the group who were standing waiting to welcome her home.

She heads to Chad and works her way down the line to hug each of the teenagers, however, avoiding Amber as she sent an angry look toward the Carpenter sister.

She thanks Wes for calling and steps back.

"These are Chad and Mindy the twins, Maya and Wes. I used to babysit them all" Sam introduces the gang to Richie.

All of them waved toward Richie. As they wave Sam looks toward Chad and Maya who were still holding hands.

"Mhm, I knew this would happen someday." She nods at them.

"What. How would you know?" Maya says laughing.

"He would always tease you when I babysat you all together. The classic way of knowing if a guy likes you."

"Come to think of it he was pretty annoying back then." Maya nods.

"Hey!" Chad replies hitting the girl on her upper arm causing the group to laugh.

Sam finally greets Amber. "And Amber, hey."

Amber keeps the reply short with a simple hi.

"Nice to see you," Sam replies clearly finding the situation awkward.

Richie introduces himself to Amber and the conversation quickly changes.

"Where's Mom?" Sam asks.

"She's stuck at a conference in London. She called me earlier." Tara says from her bed.

"Yeah, for all of ten minutes. Uh, look guys, Tara's really tired. Maybe we should give her some space."

The group nodded considering they wanted to give the Carpenter sisters some time alone.

Maya waves at the girls and smiles at Richie before heading to the door.

"So what now? Do you want to see if your mom is around?" Wes asks the girl.

Maya thought about it. She didn't want her mom hounding her to go home lock the doors and stay safe, because honestly she was fucked anyway. This person seemed to hate her guts and wanted her dead. If that's what they had done to Tara what would they do to Maya?

"Nah I'm good. I think I need a drink" Maya says walking towards the elevator.

"I second that," Chad said.

"Third," Mindy said raising her hand.

"Let's go forget about this fucked up shit I guess," Wes replied.
