Chapter nine: aramis....the roommate

"What's got you so happy?" I look up to see who my roommate was and saw~

A boy who was sitting on one of the beds set up for us. There were only two of them in this room....so I guess I don't have to deal with any other roommates. My bags and luggage were already sent up, and seemed to have been unpacked for me...

I chose not to dwell on that, and turned my attention to my roommate, he was surrounded by books in a circle around him, while he sat cross legged inside, carrying a book with both of his hands as well. He had a set of black glasses with a white design on them, it was made to look like a snake, that wrapped around the arms of the glasses, and through the rims of the lenses. His eyes were a dark brown. He had short dark hair, that was combed way too neatly in my opinion. His outfit was plain, and consisted of blue jeans, a black V-neck, a sky blue jacket, and navy vans what were placed beside his bed. The entire half of his room looked well put together, extremely neat.

Great. I live with a clean freak.

"What's with all the books? You can't be reading them all." I asked him, before getting up from my position by the door.

"I believe I asked you a question first....your majesty." I didn't realize it earlier, but he had a Chinese accent, WAIT! HOW DID HE KNOW I WAS A PRINCE?!

"Right, why was I happy....if I must tell you, I had just had interaction with a girl which in my opinion was very visually appealing." I said, trying to uphold my 'princely' aura.

"You met a cute girl?" He stated bluntly.

I looked at him dumbfounded....who was this kid?

"What's your name?" I asked, flopping onto my bed, and placing my circlet on the nightstand next to it.

"My name? Oh right, it's Nosmas, Nosmas Chai." He said, turning the pages on each one of his books.

"Pleasure to meet you Nosmas Nosmas Chai. My name is Aramis Beleren, also known as the Prince of the Illusion Isles, or the StarChild." I smiled at him, inwardly laughing at my own joke.

He simply rolled his eyes at me, and went back to his reading. That's when I noticed it. There were thin, white tendrils flowing from all of the books and into his glasses. And when I took a closer look at his glasses, on the right side was inscribed G.F.R.G, he was using Gale Force Reading Glasses, and it looked like the newest model, but that still didn't explain how he could read all of those books at once. I thought they only worked on one book at a time.

"What are your abilities?" I asked casually, playing with my locket, opening it up, before closing it again.

"Pardon?" He asked, never looking up at me.

"Your abilities...you know...your powers?" I asked again. "Like me, I have summoning capabilities, and emotion manipulation." I said, before demonstrating.

"Summon: Aviary Companion!" I shout, a white marble orb appearing in my hand. I throw it, and a dove appears, soaring around the room. "Trigger Summons: Expanded Sight!" I shout again, and the dove bursts into pink tinted sparkles, that float around before disappearing.

"I have Archive magic, and Water magic." He says. THAT explains why he's able to read all those books at once, he's using his magic to draw the knowledge from them.
