Chapter Eighteen: Akuma.....The Ball Part 2

Oh no...Alexandra and William just left us alone! Who's going to keep Zenin away from us?! I ran my fingers through my hair in panic as I looked around. I guess Nosmas must've noticed my behavior because he put his arm around my waist.

"W-Would you like to d-dance with m-me?" He stuttered, looking at the ground. I laughed and smiled at him.

"Sure." I answered, and we went out to dance. Both of us were incredibly clumsy, and we bumped into each other constantly. So, after I had finally calmed myself down, I had begun the dance that Aramis had taught us. After that, we moved smoother, as if the ground was ice, and we glided across it.

I closed my eyes, and rested my head on his shoulder as we danced. I never wanted this moment to end, and hoped it never would! I could hear how fast his heart was beating, and hoped be couldn't feel mine.

After a few more moments, I felt someone tug on my arm and pull me away from Nosmas. I felt someone hug me, and immediately knew who it was.

"Zenin. Get off of me." I growled at him, trying to pry him off.

"P-Please Akuma...I-I'm s-sorry for what I did to you. C-Can't you f-forgive me?" He croaked, like he had been crying.

"No, I could never forgive you, and you will never have my respect you sniveling ball of repulsive meat!" I shout, causing a scene. "Why can't you get it through your thick skull that I don't like you!" I can feel the sting of tears coming to my eyes. "Just, leave me alone!" Someone from Gerald House pulled Zenin off of me and I ran back to Nosmas, almost tackling him.

"Shh. Don't worry Akuma, I'm here for you. I won't let him hurt you." He whispered to my as he steered us towards an empty booth. As I sat down, I simply let go, allowing the pent up anger and sadness to fly out of my body. I both hugged, and cried on Nosmas.

Strangely, I never felt happier than I did then. Crying on Nosmas, I felt at peace. He took all of it, and was there for me, hugging me back, and stroking my back and hair to calm me down. After about five minutes of my outburst, I had slowed my crying to just a sob every now and then, and we just talked. About school, friends, family. I learned a lot about him, and his magic.

We laughed, and I almost completely forgot about the incident. We saw Luxanne walking towards us, more like, hopping towards us, with Ikumi, Autumn, and Jacqueline in tow. The music had switched to pop while i was crying, and as Lux sat down, she was jamming out.

"What's up with her?" I asked.

"Oh, this is what Aramis called Music Lux I think. She starts singing loudly, and actually looks happy instead of angry all the time. His words, not mine." Autumn replied, scooting away from the party girl.

"IT'S THE LOUD MUSIC! AND SUGAAAAARRRR!" She screamed, bouncing around happily before running off to join the mosh pit dancing that was going on.

"Raise your hand if that scared you." Jackie said, and we all put both of our hands up. "She's not allowed to have candy ever again." We all nodded in agreement.

We started talking again, and after a while, we decided to get ready to see if Jackie and Aramis won the raffle. After getting a good seat to see the stage, we all waited for the call.

"And now, the moment you've been waiting for..." We heard a voice reverberate through the hall. "The winners of the dance's swan song are." We all waited for the names. "Aramis and Jacqueline!" We all cheered as Jackie went to prepare with Aramis.

The voice faded, and the music started playing. We heard 'Cupid Shuffle' playing, and all of us got up to dance to it. For once, I was happy, I had friends who liked me for me. Even if I was clumsy. It could only get better from here.
