"But I don't wanna go!" I whined, trying to break free from Akuma and William's grip as they dragged me down the halls.

"You're going and that's final!" Akuma grunted, shoving me forward towards one of the school's many courtyards, where the dueling class was being held.

"It's called extra curricular activity for a reason! I don't have to do it if I don't want to!" I tried to move again, but I slammed into Will's chest.

"If you don't go I don't have a partner." He said, moving me forward. I finally managed to break free, and I channelled my magic into my finger tips.

"Summon: Angelic Wings!" I shouted, a little white ball appearing in my hand. I pressed it against my lips and sucked it in, crunching the orb in between my teeth. It tasted like a twist between metallic and fruity, like I was sucking on my bolt dipped in candy spray. I could feel the magic flowing through my veins. I started to glow and two wings appeared on my back. Much like my eyes and circlet, the wings was also shifting the colors of the rainbow.

With two large beats of the wings I'm above both Akuma and Will. With another I'm of for the safety of the Erwyn common room. I smile, there would be no way either of them could catch up to me. The stone pegasus guarding the entrance was in my sight, when I was tackled out of the air.

I groan as my head hit the floor, and squirm around so I can see my attacker. I nearly screamed when I saw it...

A creature with the head of an eagle and the body of a lion had placed its talons on my chest. I stared at it, before scrambling away, not caring about the claw marks on my clothing. It looked strangely familiar, with brown and black feathers and fur. And piercing teal eyes. I was about to take flight when I felt a slight discomfort in my back.

I turned around and saw Akuma, one hand glowing black, the other blue. As I craned my neck go see my back, I saw my once colorful wings withering away to ash, while water gathered around where the wings protruded from, keeping the dark magic from hurting me. I couldn't help but smile. She was trying out a tactic I saw on one of my favorite crime shows, Law And Order, Magical Victims Unit, where the two murderers were using one persons magic to amputate their victims, while the other kept them alive using healing water magic.

The rest of my wings withered away, and I was left without the versatility of flight. I turned my head back to the griffin, who was looking down at me with both pride and majesty...it was really intimidating to see a seven foot griffin looking at you like you were a tasty leg of chicken...or zebra? I don't quite know...

I started moving back slowly. "Summon: Tears of Frozen Rain." I whisper, copious amounts of shuriken appearing on bandoliers and a belt strapped to my chest and waist. These weren't ordinary shuriken however, they were crafted from ice and then enchanted so that they would never melt, and then enchanted again so that they were razor sharp.

Plucking two from my waist, I held them between my fingers, before flinging them at the griffin, going straight for the eyes and neck of the beast. I smirked, when I was little, my father used to take me out hunting for illusion monsters back in The Illusion Isles, so I had a lot of practice hitting small weak spots of creatures with my long ranged weapons, I almost never missed my target. And knowing a griffin, they don't react fast enough to block the shuriken.

Or so I thought.

The griffin merely open its beak and let out a sonic shriek. The piercing noise made me feel like my bones were jello, and I covered my heads to try to deaden the pain but to no avail. My shuriken shattered halfway between me and the creature, as did the rest of the ones I was wearing. I couldn't believe what was happening, it was like this thing had human reflexes.

That's when a blinding light started coming from the griffin. Before long, the massive mass of light slowly morphed into something more manageable to fight, just slightly taller than myself. When the light dimmed, I was shocked at what I saw.

"William?!" I shouted, confused beyond belief. "How did you do that?!"

He merely slapped his palm do his forehead, groaning in frustration. His face was contorted into a look of both complete disbelief and disappointment.

"You're really dense sometimes aren't you Aramis?" He said, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I have BeastWalker magic, I can shapeshifting to any creature I've seen or fought, I also have the ability to speak every language known to man, or beast." He said patiently, waiting for his words to sink in.

"Oh! I get it now!" I shout, oddly happy for understanding what that had meant. "Man! Being your partner for Duel Club is gonna get a whole lot cooler then!" I smiled at him, and his once annoyed demeanor softened slightly.

"Yeah, it would be if we ever made it to Duel Club, thanks to your little stunt, we're gonna be really late. They might even kick us out." Akuma said, I almost forgot she was there, she was so quiet...like death.

"What do you mean! Of course we'll make it! I have a plan." I said, by the way both Akuma and Will looked at me, they must've thought I was crazy. But, I could feel that my lips had been tugged into a mischievous grin, I would've been scared too. Hehehe....
