Damian grinned at them and ruffled their hair.
"Definitely fallen Angel. Je spreekt Nederlands! Natuurlijk ben ik een idioot." Damian shook his head and the twins' eyes -somehow- widened further.
"Jij spreekt het ook! Dacht dat we gek waren..." Tristan huffed, barely hiding his smile.
"For privacy reasons, I won't say what language it is, that way they have a way to communicate until they learn English. If you want I can help. English is my first language, but I dabbled in a few others after I got married just in case." Damian shrugged and pat the kiddos on the back, folding his wings again."That would be better than trying to guess half of what they say, I'm sure Hes won't mind." I agreed, following him as he led the way to what was apparently a library.
"Ik ga jullie Engels leren. De taal die ze spreekt." Damian explained to them, gesturing to me.
"Hoe komt dat?" Tristan asked, tilting his head slightly.
"Dus jullie kunnen met elkaar praten en het begrijpen. Maak je geen zorgen, het zou niet te moeilijk moeten zijn, want jullie zijn allebei jong." Damian answered, sitting on a rug and inviting them to sit with him. They sat there like that for hours while I browsed through the books, listening in and smiling to myself as they were able to understand and speak a few easy English words. Eventually Damian stood, whispered something to the both of them in whatever they were speaking and came over to me.
"I'd like to give them lessons at the same time every day to give them plenty of time to learn more English, will that be ok?" He asked, watching me closely as I closed the book I'd been reading about Supernatural creatures history.
"Sure. Does noon work?" I answered his question with one of my own, glancing at the twins who were sitting in their chairs and babbling nonsense to each other in English.
"Of course. But you were right, they're really smart for their age, I have no doubt they'll be able to learn English quickly.""Did you happen to learn anything about their past?"
"Just that they had a guardian who taught them the language they speak. She wanted to make sure they could communicate without everyone overhearing them and telling the woman's boss." He shrugged and waved to the kiddos as I called them over to leave.
"Thanks anyway, we'll see you tomorrow."He nodded and I led the kids back to the watchtower, only to find Griff in a headlock and Ryo watching amusedly as his mate tried strangling mine.
"Give me the address Griff!" Hesterin shouted, growling.
"Ow! I don't even know what it is, Callie just walked in a few random directions and boom we arrive at a house." Griff tried to explain, but Hes wasn't having it.
"Hesterin leave my mate alone, the twins are perfectly fine." I demanded, allowing the two to run forward with grins on their faces as they launched themselves at my friend."According to Mr. Stone they're Fallen Angels, he knows the language they speak, but instead of telling me what it was so I could translate he offered to teach them English everyday at noon. I agreed to the proposal, so tomorrow you can come with us to his house and see for yourself nothing happened."
"I'll be the judge of the Cal, why didn't you ask first?"
"How was I supposed to ask Hes? It's not like we use phones -for obvious reasons- and we can't use our heads and I wasn't going to leave his place to come here just to go right back. I made a decision that will benefit the kids and you're just going to have to deal with it."
She was obviously still upset, but with Alexia being her adorable little self and stumbling of the word 'dragon' Hesterin couldn't continue to argue at the moment.~~~~
No one brought it up afterwards, too busy with their own thing. Hesterin and Ryo were working on an escape plan should someone find the watchtower, I was always taking the twins to English lessons with the occasional silent follower -Hes- and Griff was busy making sure we had food and clothes at all times.
Sometimes if we needed something it would pretty much appear out of nowhere, not even Griff knew where it came from, so when I wasn't with the kids at the Stone's house I was in the library doing everything I could to find anything I could on the tower itself which was absolutely nothing. Sometimes I'd think I might've found something and then something would drag me away from it and I'd have to search all over again. It was really annoying.
"Cal!" Hesterin shouted from the library's entrance, pulling me from my thoughts with the voice that said she'd been calling me for a while.
"What's up?" I asked, setting the book aside.
"The sky," she responded sarcastically.
"We're going for a fly, wanna come?"
"Nah that's ok. I'm still looking into some stuff. Thanks though."
"You study too much sometimes." She sighed and shook her head with a smile before leaving me alone once again in the library.
