After finishing Potions, Lilly and I headed towards the Great Hall, excited to catch up with Marlene. As we pushed open the heavy doors, the familiar sounds of chattering voices and clanging silverware greeted us. Marlene spotted us at once and invited us over with a wave of her hand.

We made our way over to her and took a seat, one on each side. Lily turned to me, a mischievous smirk planted on her lips.

"Don't even." I say blankly

"Don't even what?" Marlene asked

Lily looked past me and whispered loudly, "They smelled each other in Slughorn's Amortentia."

"Wait, what?" she exclaimed. "You smelled Sirius in the potion?"

I looked over at the door to the great hall, Sirius and James walked through the door, I could feel the warmth spreading quicker through my cheeks and down my neck as I blushed. It was like a wave of heat washing over me.

"I- I did, Can we not talk about this now?" I motion at the approaching boys with my head.

"James isn't going to let either of you live that down, I hope you know that" Marlene whispered as the two sat across from us.

James grinned mischievously as he looked at me. "You know, I've never seen you blush so much. Does the air smell different?" he joked, winking at Sirius.

I rolled my eyes, trying not to let his teasing get to me. "Ha ha, very funny," I shot back sarcastically.

Sirius chuckled, shooting a playful glare at James. "Stop teasing," shaking his head.

I let out a sigh and sank into my seat, crossing my arms in frustration.

But James wasn't done yet. He leaned over and ruffled Sirius's hair, grinning mischievously. "I think you two should just snog right here," he joked, earning a smack from Lilly across the table. "James! Quit it now," she scolded, giving him a stern look.

"I'm sorry, it's just that we spent the entire summer together and these two didn't take advantage of my parents being away," James complained.

"Maybe that's because we respect each other's boundaries," I muttered under my breath. Sirius smirked in agreement, nodding his head slightly.

James let out an unsatisfied huff at both answers.

"I've had a great time, but I need some space," I announced as I began to rise from the table.

"Are you okay?" Sirius mouthed to me, with a concerned look on his face.

I nodded and mouthed back, "Library in ten."

"I'll see you later in DADA then!" James said.

I retrieved my bag from the floor and headed towards the library. Climbing up the stairs to the far back corner, I plopped down on the small couch that faced the window.

After about five minutes I feel two hands on my shoulders, I look up and I'm met with Sirius's smiling face.

"When were you planning on revealing your crush on me?" I teased

He dipped his head down, shaking it while laughing. "I wasn't planning on it," he admitted, lifting his head back up and scaling the couch to sit beside me. "I didn't know how you felt and I didn't want to risk ruining our friendship."
