I opened my eyes and stretched, feeling groggy and disoriented. Sirius and I had stayed up way too late last night, just cuddling and talking, and now I was paying the price. I glanced at the clock and my heart sank. I was going to be late for Transfiguration.I quickly got out of bed and grabbed my wand, muttering a spell to tidy up the room as I went. I didn't have time for a shower or breakfast, but I threw on some clothes and rushed out the door.
As I reached the Transfiguration classroom, I took a deep breath and pushed open the door. The room was already full of students, and Professor McGonagall was at the front of the room, her eyes fixed on me.
"Miss Summers" she said sternly. "You're late."
"I'm sorry, Professor," I said, my face flushing with embarrassment. "It won't happen again."
As I sat down in my seat, I couldn't help but notice Evan and Barty sitting a few rows ahead of me. They were the last people I wanted to see in this class, especially after what happened the night before.
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, feeling Evan's eyes on me from a few rows ahead. I tried my best to focus on the lesson Professor McGonagall was presenting, taking notes as she spoke about the principles of human transfiguration. After class ended, I gathered my things and quickly made my way out of the classroom, But as I walked down the hallway I felt a strong hand pull me into an empty classroom.
As soon as I felt the hand on my arm, I knew it was Evan. My heart began to race as he pulled me into the empty classroom and slammed the door behind us.
"What the hell was that last night, Cali?" Evan spat, his eyes blazing with fury. "You think you can just hit me and get away with it?"
I tried to back away, but Evan's grip on my arm was too tight. "Let go of me," I said, my voice shaking.
"Not until you tell me what's going on between you and that blood traitor." Evan said, his face twisted in anger.
I felt a surge of fear wash over me as I realized how dangerous the situation was. Evan was unpredictable, and I know what he was capable of.
"There's nothing going on between us," I said, trying to keep my voice calm. "We're just friends."
Evan sneered at me. "Don't lie to me, Cali. I know you better than anyone. You're mine, and no one else's."
I shook my head, trying to pull away from him. "I'm not yours, Evan," I said, my voice rising in panic. "We're over, and you need to accept that."
But Evan just laughed. "We'll see about that," he said, and with that, he lunged towards me.
I stumbled backward as Evan lunged towards me, his face twisted in rage. But as he drew closer, I saw something in his eyes that made me pause. There was a desperation there, a need to control me that went beyond anger.
"I'm warning you, Evan," I said, my voice shaking but firm. "If you lay a hand on me, I'll scream for help."
Evan hesitated, his hand still outstretched towards me. For a moment, we just stood there, locked in a tense standoff. But then, with a snarl of frustration, Evan drew a line with his finger down my chin to my neck, about to grasp it he released my arm.
"This isn't over," he growled, his eyes fixed on mine. "You're mine, Cali. Don't forget it."
And with that, he turned and stormed out of the classroom, slamming the door behind him. I stood there for a moment, my heart racing with fear and anger.
