I stood up and wiped my face, grabbing a thick black sweater to put on. Reggie stood up as well, and began walking towards the door. I followed him out, down the stairs and through the corridors until we reached the edge of the Forbidden Forest. He stopped just before the tree line, turning to face me."Are you sure you want to do this?" he asked softly.
I hesitated, unsure of myself. "No, I'm not sure," I admitted, my voice just as soft as his.
He placed a hand on my shoulder and gently rubbed it, "I won't let them hurt you.." he said
I nodded slowly. "Okay," I said, trying to steady my nerves.
As we apparated, I felt like I was being twisted and turned inside out. When we finally landed, my stomach was churning and my head was spinning.
I looked around and realized with a sinking feeling where we were - the dark and rundown house. I turned to Reggie, "This is where Evan brought me", I said in a low whisper.
"I know," he replied in a hushed tone. "Just stay close to me and don't speak unless you're spoken to."
I nodded, feeling a knot form in my stomach. Reggie took my hand and led me towards the house. As we approached the front door, I could hear muffled voices from inside. My heart was pounding in my chest as Reggie knocked on the door.
A few moments later, the door creaked open, revealing a hooded figure. Reggie whispered something to them and we were ushered inside.
My heart raced as we entered a large room with a long table, at least twenty Death Eaters already seated. I gripped Reggie's hand tightly, trying to hide my fear.
He led me to a corner of the room and whispered, "Stay here and don't move. I'll be right back." With that, he left me alone.
I stood there, my heart pounding as I watched my surroundings. Suddenly, two of the death eaters sitting at the table noticed me and got up, walking in my direction. I felt a wave of panic wash over me as they approached.
Without waiting to see their faces, I quickly slipped out of the door, searching for Regulus.
As I made my way through the dimly lit corridors, I heard footsteps behind me. I quickened my pace, my heart beating faster with every passing moment. Suddenly, a hand grabbed my shoulder and another covered my mouth, pulling me into a dark room. I gasped, trying to scream, but the hand over my mouth was too tight.
I bit down on the hand, feeling a burst of pain to the back of my head. My heart sank as I found myself face to face with Barty, his eyes blazing with anger.
"What brings you here?" Evan snarled at me from behind, tightening his grip on my hair. "Answer me, Calista!" He jerked my head back.
Barty circled around me like a hawk, eyeing me with suspicion. "She's a spy," he said in an excited tone. "We should kill her right now."
"I'm not a spy!" I finally yelled out.
Evan tightened his grip on my hair, causing me to wince in pain. "Don't lie to me, Calista," he growled in my ear.
Barty took out his wand and tapped it on my forehead, asking, "How's Marlene doing?" He smirked.
I tried to lunge at him, but Evan pulled me back roughly, then threw his arm around my chest to hold me back.
