ONE YEAR LATER

QUINN'S POV

Lexie and Quinn's apartment

I had just got back from our morning skate, taking of my clothes and hopping into the shower. Today was game day against the Devils and I was ready to beat my brother. Lexie was doing some work at the rink and was meeting me later before the game to have our good luck talk and kiss. She was doing some pre game interviews before going up and doing the games commentary.

After my shower I hopped out and went to go put on my tux before meeting Elias in the lobby to go drive off to the game. In the drive over we listened to his swedish music like old times, getting hyped up for the game we were prepared to win.

The Rink

We pulled up to the rink and got out of the car, walking inside and getting our pictures taken by the media team. Elias was getting asked multiple questions about his recent engagement with Logan but he wouldn't answer any of them. We both knew that if they were asking Logan they would get all the juicy details and gossip about their relationship.

Brock met up with us in the locker room, already changed and ready to hit the ice for warm ups. He was excited for his interview with Lexie before the game started, even making his hair look good. Elias and I laughed at him while getting into our gear, telling him that his hair looked fine.

After we all got ready we walked out to go hit the ice for our warmups, spotting Lexie leaning up against the wall with some papers in her hands. She looked up at me and smiled, waving hi to the boys as they passed her.

"Hi Quinny" she sang.

I walked up and gave her a kiss, playing with her long hair. "Are you excited for your interviews today?".

She perked up as I asked, having a sneaky look on her face. "Oh yeah, you are going to love the questions I have for you".

"Any hints?" I muttered.

"Nope" she smiled. "Now go warm up okay" Lexie pushed me away jokingly.

I gave her a quick kiss before walking out onto the ice, warming up for the game. Jack skated up towards me, giving me a little side hug.

"Ready to get your ass kicked" he joked, hitting his stick against my skated.

"Ready to lose" I responded, pushing him a little.

We stood and warmed up together before i saw Lexie come out onto the team bench out of the corner of my eye. She was preparing for her pre game interviews, playing with her hair nervously.

"Lex looks so pretty" Jack said giving her a little wave.

"She does, doesn't she" I said, admiring my beautiful fiancé. We decided to get married in August next year, flying the whole family out to Vancouver Island and having it by the ocean or in the forest. Lexie has been planning it with Logan for months now, always talking about how excited she was for all of our loved ones to be in the same place at once.

The lights in the rink started to dim, indicating that the pre game interviews were starting. I skated over to the bench with the rest of the team and waited for the interviews to start. Lexie walked out onto the ice right outside of the bench and prepared the microphones as Kuzy went out and stood beside her.

After Kuzy Elias skated up to her before it was my turn. I got up and stood beside her, smiling as she got everything ready. She looked up at me before handing me a mic and facing the camera. Lexie asked me a few basic questions before smiling and looking down at her paper.

"I have one last question for you before you go Quinn" she smiled.

"Go ahead" I responded.

"How does it feel now that you're going to be a father" she said, tears filling her eyes.

The crowd started cheering as i stood there in shock. "Am I really" i muttered, feeling tears stream down my face.

Lexie nodded with a big smile on her face as I gave her a big hug. The guys were banging their sticks on the boards as she cried into my shoulder, mumbling how much she loved me.

When I pulled away from the hug she pointed up to the megatron that was playing a video of Lexie talking. I turned towards it and started to watch, smiling as I heard my parents voices and seeing their faces on the big screen.

"Hi Sweetheart, Lexie told us the surprise and so that's why we are making this video. We are so happy for you and can't wait to meet the little one. Dad has already started to buy baby clothes and baby skates so hopefully they like to skate! Love you so much honey, and we love you too Lexie."

Jack and Luke
"Hi Huggy, your little brothers here. We are so happy that we are finally going to be uncles, and even happier that Lexie is the mom. Hopefully it gets her genes and doesn't make the same faces that you do, even though we do love Quinn memes.  Love you Quinn!!"

The Team
"Hi Huggy Bear. Cant believe you are going to be a dad, in our eyes you are still the shy rookie that came in and took the NHL by storm. We are so excited to meet the little one and babysit when you and Lexie need a night out. We are so proud of the man that you have become, and we thank Lexie for being the perfect person for you"

Trevor, Cole and Alex
"Hi Buddy! heard you are going to be a dad. We are all making bets on the babies gender and Trevor is hoping he is right since he has way to much money riding on it. You are going to be the best dad ever and we are going to be the best uncles ever. Love you Quinny"

Lexie
"Hi Quinny, surprise! you're going to be a father. I know you don't like attention on yourself but Brock and I came up with this idea and I couldn't say no. I love you so much and you are going to be the best dad ever. Also, how do you feel about her playing hockey just like her father"

I looked over at Lexie with my mouth open. "It's a girl? i asked.

"It's a girl" she smiled.
