The three weeks had gone buy fast. I had just picked up Lexie from her apartment since she was staying at my place tonight, since we both had an early flight tomorrow with the team. Elias had ordered some pizza while we were gone, sitting in the couch eating some when we got back.
"Hi Elias" Lexie said when we walked in.
He turned around and gave a big smile before swallowing his food. "Hi Lex, good to see you again".
She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a slice of pizza before going into the living room and sitting beside Elias in the couch. The two of them had become really good friends recently, making it less stressful for me when I had to leave the two of them alone. Lexie treated him like family, always bringing over leftovers for him if she knew he was alone for the night.
I grabbed some slices and sat beside them, grabbing the remote to change the channel. Elias and Lexie had started to binge watch gossip girl together and I was not interested in watching it with them. Sure I love Lexie, but she has the worst taste in TV shows and her and Elias found some twisted way to bond over it and make me feel left out.
"Oh c'mon quinny, let us watch gossip girl" Lexie said pouting.
"No, I want to watch Rowdys game" I said giving her a kiss.
"Fair enough, family comes first" said Elias.
We turned on Jacks game, texting the group chat at the same time to tell him how much he sucked, even if he got a hat trick and scored the winning goal against the Bruins.
After the game ended Elias went straight to bed to make sure he got tons of sleep before tomorrow since he rarely sleeps on flights. Lexie was scrolling through her Instagram feed so I started to cuddle up with her to get her attention.
"Oh I'm sorry, am I not giving you enough attention" she said turning off her phone.
"I've missed you Lex" I said kissing her neck.
"We saw each other two days ago Quinny" she said giggling.
"Wanna go take a shower" I said quietly, looking at her with a smile.
"Yes" she responded jumping off the couch and dragging me into the bathroom.
The Plane
We pulled up to the tarmac at 8am sharp for our flight to Detroit. Lexie was talking to Coach Tocchet by the front of the plane so Elias and I went to go take our seats. We saved a seat in the row beside us for Lexie, beside Brock since the two of them loved playing cards together. She came and handed me a blanket for the plane ride before sitting down beside Brock and handing him his favourite cookies.
"Hey coach, can we bring Lexie on every trip" Brock said, showing the cookies.
"If that's what makes you behave Boeser then I'm sure we can make that work" he responded, making us all laugh.
The plane had wifi so we got to watch some movies and sit on our phones to distract ourselves. Lots of the guys took this time to call their families and talk to them, but I used this time to get in some extra sleep. I set up a blanket and some pillows on the floor, getting comfortable with some music playing in my headphones. It didn't take long for me to fall asleep, having a weird dream about us all hanging out at my lake house this summer.
Elias woke me up right before we landed like he normally does. I got up and sat back in my chair, looking over at Lexie who was sitting on her phone, probably doing some work for the Canucks account. When I turned on my phone I saw that I had been tagged in a post, from no other then Lexie spam account.
