"Bye," I say as my parents drop me off at River High.
"Don't forget the dagger. Its in the front pocket," my mother whispers in my ear.
"I know, I know."
My parents are paranoid. As I ran off I heard my mom yell that they were going to pick me up after spelling bee practice. It will be a great day I think. Sadly my day was about to take a bad turn.
As I walk to the front doors I see my best friends. Two, Aspen Branch and Amber Wolfe, are glaring daggers at each other. The third, Astrid Augustine, looks like she is going to pop someones head off. That is very unusual behavior for Ashley and Amber. I wonder what's wrong? I think to myself as I quicken my pace.
"What in the world is going on Astrid!" I exclaimed worriedly, coming to my friend.
"These two are fighting and I don't know what happened and these two won't tell me."
"We are angry at each other because we blamed each other for you not riding the bus. We had a special plan laid out for you on the bus," Ashley exclaimed.
"I am truly sorry but, my mom made me ride with them."
"Well, i guess its ok then. By the way, testing is in thirty minutes."
"What!"
"C'mon then!" Amber said and hauled me away.

As Amber and I walked from our lockers everybody said hello. Sometimes it can be hard to be the most popular kids in school, especially when every boy in school wants to date you. I am like the queen of middle school. We get stopped in the hall by my boyfriend, Mark Manheimer, obviously the second most popular person in school.
"Hi, Amber. Hello my sweet Marianne and Happy Birthday." Mark said walking up to us. He was dressed in a dark blue shirt with blue-black jeans.
"Hi, Mark," I said rolling my eyes.
"Hi, Mark," Amber said.
"So Amber, can Marianne be alone for a while with me."
You can see in her eyes that she expected to hear the story later. She left and met up with her boyfriend.
"So..." I asked leaving a question hanging in midair. He just smiled and gently pulled me into the breakout area. That is a place kids can go during study hall time. He backed me in a corner and whispered in my ear that through anything that happens, would i still love him. Naturally, i looked worried but said yes. He slowly leaned forward and kissed me. We stood there for a few seconds but it felt like hours to me. Finally he let up.
"How was it," he asked.
"It was wonderful," i replied dreamily.
"If you can believe it, that was my first time doing that to somebody."
"Well I feel bad for the girls who missed out."
We both laughed and walked hand in hand, into the chaos of school.
