Robin felt skin tear underneath his claws. He heard her scream. Oh no, he didn't think he went that deep when he tried to save her. A little while later he sat on a floor while he screamed in silent pain. He felt Sabetha bite his wing even harder. With her jaws still clamped around his wing, she transformed him into a human. Chains magically appeared upon his wrists. When the chains came she let go.
"You insufferable child! You ruined everything!" She screamed at Robin. He just sat there in silence, bleeding on the floor. His arm had been mauled. "Do you realize what you did? What you have done?!"
"Yes, I do realize what I have done. I did my duty to protect the princess." He spat the words out.
"Wait. Maybe you didn't ruin everything." I gave her a questioning look. "Oh, didn't you know?" Sabetha said in her sickly sweet poisonous voice that said 'I know something you don't.'
"What is that Sabetha? Another attack while I am chained up in iron?"
"No. It is something far more, what's the word, intriguing She will become evil when her guardians are not around her."
"What do you mean?"
"When they are dead, is what I mean, idiot!"
"Not possible, not unless you want to fight four guardians."
"I am not worried about those four. The shapeshifters will tear themselves apart one by one until they are too weak to continue, why do you think they were fighting this morning? The fourth one isn't a problem either. Come." The last line wasn't said towards him, but to the shadows behind her. A boy no more than seventeen walked into the light.
"Mark! Get out of here!"
"I can't Robin, for you see, I am Sabetha's son."
Robin sat in a stunned silence. "Oh, and Robin dear, he has a sister. She gets me the inside info." Out of the dark came someone he had known for years. "Hello, Robin," she snapped. "Saphire." He said flatly. She cut an imposing figure. She had wavy brown hair that reached the middle of her back. She looked just like her mother.
"You see Robin, my son was trying to get close to Marianne. That was supposed to be my revenge."
"The revenge for what?"
"My daughter, Aspen."
