"I miss you, Akshu... This time, I'll apologize for everything I've done. I don't know if you'll ever forgive me, but I admit—it was all my fault. I never truly respected you, and that guilt is eating me alive. But despite everything, I still love you, and I always will. Even though I got engaged to Aarohi, I don't know why my heart still beats for you, Akshu. But I'll try... I'll try my best to fulfill this relationship," Abhi murmured, his voice breaking as tears welled up in his eyes.
"Abhimanyu!!" Mahima's voice called from behind.
"Yes, Tai Ji?"
"It's time for your flight. Are you ready?" she asked.
"Yes, Tai Ji. I'm ready," Abhi replied.
He walked downstairs, said his goodbyes to everyone, and left for Shimla.
—
As soon as he landed, he stepped outside the airport and hailed a cab.
"Taxi! Legacy Hotel," Abhi instructed.
"Please get in, sir," the driver responded.
Upon reaching the hotel, he immediately called Mr. Shailash.
"Hello, Mr. Shailash... When is the meeting scheduled?" Abhi asked.
"Oh, Abhimanyu, you've arrived! The meeting is tomorrow at 5 p.m.," Shailash informed him.
"Oh, okay. That's fine," Abhi said before disconnecting the call.
He checked the time and realized, "The meeting is tomorrow at 5 p.m., which means I have time." Without hesitation, he dialed Akshara's number.
—
Meanwhile, at her place, Akshara looked at her phone in shock.
"Abhimanyu's call? Why is he calling me? Should I pick up? Maybe it's something important..." she murmured, hesitating for a moment before answering.
"H-hello?" she said cautiously.
"Akshara, I..." Abhi started.
"What happened, Mr. Abhimanyu? Why are you calling me so suddenly?" Akshara asked, her voice guarded.
"I need to talk to you..." Abhi said.
"Whatever needed to be said already happened when we met at the temple. I'm happy on my own, Abhimanyu. I don't need a partner," Akshara replied firmly, though her eyes filled with unshed tears. She was on the verge of breaking down but held herself together.
"I'm in Shimla... I'm on my way to Kasauli," Abhi revealed.
Akshara froze. "What?? Why are you here? Please, Abhimanyu, don't come back into my life again," she whispered, her voice trembling as silent tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Akshu, please... I just need to talk to you," Abhi pleaded.
"Don't call me Akshu! I am not your Akshu anymore... please," she said, her voice breaking.
"I know you still love me... I'm coming. I've sent you the address—I hope you'll be there," Abhi said before ending the call.
As he stared out of the car window, he whispered to himself, "I hope you come, Akshu... I have so much to apologize for." A lone tear escaped his eye as he looked ahead, hoping for one last chance.
