The morning sun went through the window of the Sully home announcing the soon arrival of spring. Tuk giggled excitedly as Lo'ak tied the skies to her feet.
"Where did you put your scarf?" He mumbled looking around for the piece of clothing their mother had knitted for her.
"Here." Lo'ak looked up seeing Neteyam handing it to him. He thanked with a quick nod of his head as the older smiled briefly at him.
After the incident with Mister Kíak, they were back to speaking terms, although there was still an awkwardness between them that they couldn't seem to shake off. It was a new and strange feeling that neither liked, but they did not yet dare to talk things over properly.
"Let's go, they must be waiting for us!" Kiri protested from the front door.
"Come on, Tuk." Lo'ak carried his little sister in his arms as he knew she wouldn't know how to walk in her new skates just yet. "How are they feeling? Comfortable?" He pointed at the shoes.
"Yes! And they are very pretty too!"
"Well, you will have to thank miss Tsireya when we get there. It was a very kind gesture of her." Neteyam pinched her cheek as she happily nodded.
"I feel little bad. She is always giving things to Tuk. Did you notice the boots and the dress?" Kiri winced discreetly.
"How could I not? They are the best pair of boots Tuk has worn in a while." Neteyam mumbled with a little smile.
"We should definitely give her something to thank her."
"What does she like?" Kiri turned to Lo'ak, liking the idea.
"How could I know? She is your friend." He tried to defend himself. A slight blush grew on his face.
"Oh please, for the way you talk to her, I doubt you wouldn't know." Kiri rolled her eyes. "What is her favorite color?"
"...Blue. " Lo'ak mumbled, scowling at his sister's grin. "And you are the one to laugh! Do you think I haven't noticed the way you look at dull Mister Waititi!?"
"It's weird if you call him like that!" She smacked his arm. "And by your information, Rotxo is not dull, right Tuk?"
"He is kind, I like him!" The little one smiled resting her head on Lo'ak's shoulder, still feeling sleepy so early in the morning.
"And you would know that if you ever talk to him instead of being busy following Tsireya around like a lost puppy."
The rest of the way was pretty much like that, Kiri and Lo'ak mocking each other as Neteyam only smiled at his siblings' antics. They soon arrived at their destination where the Geljos greeted them with a smile.
It was a big frozen river with a small water well on the side, covered by a thick layer of ice on top. It wasn't much but it was still enough for Tuk to have fun.
"¡Miss Reya! Miss Reya!" Tuk attempted to run to her forgetting about her skates and almost tripping and falling, but Lo'ak was quick enough to catch her and help her walk by holding her hand.
"Good morning, Tuk! How are you linking those?" She crouched and pointed at her feet as Tuk's smile grew bigger.
"They are really pretty! Thank you so very much!" Her energy brought a smile to every single one of them. "I also wore the pretty dress you gifted me and I feel like a princess!"
"You certainly look the part." Rotxo complimented her. "So, are you excited to learn how to skate?" She nodded eagerly.
"And what about you?" Ao'nung mumbled only for Neteyam to hear.
