Kiri spied by the doorframe of the study, watching as Ao'nung closed the front door, muttering to himself with a scowl. She laughed turning to Rotxo who was shaking his head with a smile as well.
"How stubborn one man can be?" She scoffed taking a seat next to him, practically melting against the soft furniture.
"At least he tries." He sighed deeply, content with his friend's willingness to make things better. Old Ao'nung would have never acknowledged his fault in the situation.
"I'll have to give him that." Kiri yawned, still feeling lazy.
"Is he gone yet!?" A shout broke from down the hallway causing Kiri to snort.
"Yes, the monster is gone! You can come out!" She shouted back and not long after Tsireya walked through the door with a pout, however, her sour expression crumbled at the sight of Rotxo.
"You are back!" She hurried to sit on the sofa hugging him for a moment. "How was your trip?"
"Awfully boring." He cracked a playful smile.
"Did you get the thing?" Tsireya squinted her eyes giving a short look towards Kiri.
"What thing?" She sat straight, now curious to know what she was missing.
"There is no thing!" Rotxo's face flustered clicking his tongue at Tsireya to make her shush.
Just as Kiri was about to sulk for being left out a maid by the door took everyone's attention.
"Miss Sully, there is a man by the door looking for you." She spoke softly.
"Who? My brother?" She asked still half asleep with her head supported by her hand.
"He said his name was...Miles?" She doubted for a moment automatically Kiri almost jumped off her seat, standing as straight as a ruler.
"Mister Quarich?" Tsireya opened her mouth in surprise.
"Who?" Rotxo frowned with a confused smile, looking at Kiri. Her reaction had made his chest fill with something unpleasant.
"Tell him I'm not here!"
"Well, where else would you be? He knows you don't go out much." Tsireya covered her mouth to hide her smile, enjoying watching Roxto's reaction to Kiri's outburst.
"Then tell him I'm sick!"
"He will just insist on seeing you, you know that man doesn't give up when it comes to you." Tsireya shrugged.
"How could you know? You have talked to him like two times!"
"And it was enough to know of his liking to you."
"Who are we talking about?" Rotxo stood up beside Kiri, feeling too restless to be laying around.
"Let him in, It would be rude otherwise. " Tsireya spoke and the maid was quickly on her way.
"Why do you enjoy seeing me suffer?" Kiri turned to her acting defeated.
"Suffer? But I thought you two would be on better terms after the ball." Tsireya pouted.
"Well, we are..."
"I don't understand." She waited but Kiri nervously averted her eyes to the door. "Did something happen after I left?" Her smile grew.
"Uhm, we talked, and then we dance. But when we were dancing..."
"What? What is it?" Tsireya got closer to hear better even if Kiri's tone got quieted by the second.
"He said some funny things and then we laughed. I guess he is not so bad after all." She shrugged very nonchalantly, only exposed by a nervous sigh.
"Can someone tell me who this man is?" Rotxo tried to grab Kiri's attention but his efforts went unnoticed.
