Lo'ak lay on the ground as the ringing from his ears and the alcohol in his system kept him dizzy and incapable of getting back up after the punch that had most likely broken the skin of his cheekbone.
There was someone on top of him landing hits and spitting curses at him. He couldn't understand anything that was being said as he was barely able to process the pain in his face, however, on top of the chaos he could recognize one thing.
Tsireya was screaming.
He wasn't capable of making out the words, but the terrified shake of her voice was all it took him to suck on a breath and swing as hard as he could, finally taking the extra weight off of him and quickly moving to get on top of whoever was making Tsireya so afraid.
He raised his fist but once he saw Ao'nungs' face twisted with rage he stopped.
"You lowlife dog!"
Of course, the hesitation didn't last long.
Lo'ak punched him a couple of times before Ao'nung regained his strength. Due to their senses being weakened by the alcohol and rage, the fight was pretty even, which signified difficulty to however tried to break them apart.
Of course, Kiri did not care about that for as soon as she managed to catch up with Ao'nung and saw the situation she launched herself forward to pull her brother out of there despite Mile's and Tsireya's pretest. Her face was the victim of a few missed hits, but she almost didn't notice.
"What is wrong with you two!?" She shouted once the fight was over thanks to Mile's help.
"I knew you were nothing but an animal since the moment I first saw you, but to go as far as to lay your filthy hands on my sister!?" Ao'nung shouted with all his might, being pulled back by Miles.
"Ah, shit..."Kiri mumbled under her breath.
"Well!? Say something, damn it!" He grew angry by every second Lo'ak stood in silence, only looking apologetically at Tsireya. He didn't bother addressing him.
"Are you alright?" Lo'ak hold his side in pain trying to go near Tsireya and comfort her as her breathing clearly was becoming labored, but he was saved back harshly.
"You are lucky I hold affection towards your brother because if I didn't I wouldn't care about how devastated he would be if I were to kill you with my bare fucking hands!"
"Stop it!" Tsireya got in front of him to stop her brother's violent intentions.
"You are never to go near her again, do you hear me!?"
"Ao'nung!" Tsireya pleaded as her eyes filled with desperate tears.
"If I ever see you even looking in her direction I will not hesitate." His voice got lower and threatening. They stared at each other for a moment before Ao'nung took Tsireya's arms careful not to harm her. "We must leave, Reya. Come on."
"Brother..." She tried to pull back on the verge of tears.
"Walk, Tsireya." His voice was not so calm now and she couldn't do anything but oblige.
She gave glances back, managing to see Lo'ak checking up on Kiri's injuries before he looked back at her with nothing but a grimace, unable to do much even if all he wanted was to snatch Tsireya out of her brother's grasp.
Tsireya took deep breaths as they made their way through the people. It all seemed blurry and the music sounded so far away that she even wondered if she was trapped inside one of her nightmares without realizing it, but she was quickly pulled back by the sound of the carriage's door being slammed shut.
