LOCATION: MAMA'S LIQUOR SHOP
POINT PLACE, WISCONSINthe group of teens watched as leia placed the keg tap on the counter and mama looked her up and down.
"you sure you want to be drinking in your condition, hon?" mama asked as she motioned towards leia's fake pregnant stomach, which was just a pillow shoved up her dress.
"oh it's for my husband... he got a keg for the baby shower." she replied with some hesitation. mama seemed to buy it and nodded while ringing leia up.
"that'll be $39.50." mama said in a somewhat bored manner as leia reached into her bag to grab the cash. as she was searching, the pillow started to slip as mama leaned over the counter watching then angrily grabbed the tap.
"i'm sick of you kids. i'm calling the cops." she said as she started to dial the phone. leia grabbed her free hand frantically.
"put the phone down, mama." she said sternly. once the group had successfully gotten the tap from mama, all thanks to leia's debate skills, they headed towards the town water tower.

"to leia, the mama slayer!" the group yelled out as they all brought their cups together, then proceeded to cheer to leia's debate coach. then group then dispersed a bit to watch the fireworks. jay, rhia, and leia stayed near each other.
"look nik, a shooting star." nate said to his girlfriend while pointing towards the sky. nikki looked over at him disappointedly.
"that's a firework, babe." she said as she patted his chest lightly. gwen spoke up from the far side of the water tower.
"leia you were such a badass tonight. i honestly didn't think you had it in you." she said while passing leia another cup as she walked over.
"i didn't either, but i love this feeling." leia nodded, feeling proud of herself. rhia smiled at her cousin, not noticing jay watching her.
"i feel free. i really wish i could stay for the summer." she said sagging a bit. rhia furrowed her eyebrows a bit.
"well why don't you? grandma would love to have you for a few months." she suggested as the rest of the group nodded, agreeing that she should stay.
"my dad won't let me, rhia. you know how he is, especially recently." leia said a bit sadly. gwen placed a hand on one of her shoulders.
"listen, when my parents split up, the school shrink said my life would suck from then on. but i wasn't gonna let it. i took charge and when i got home i bleached my hair, cut my jeans up, and decided that this was how i was gonna live from now on." she told leia is an encouraging manner. leia looked in awe of her again.
"this is gonna sound totally dorky, but i'm really interested in us becoming best friends. how do we make that happen?" she said slowly starting to smile.
"you stay. that's how we make it happen. and you can lose the dorky. it's kind of implied." gwen replied as she wrapped a arm around leia.

jay walked back towards town next to rhia, as the two hung back a bit from the rest of the group.
"so do you think that leia's gonna stay?" jay asked rhia after minutes of silence between the two teens. rhia shrugged a bit and wrapped her arms around herself.
"i hope so. my uncle is definitely gonna try to stop it though, but i think, in the end, he'll let her stay." she said looking up towards the sky as the two walked. jay nodded a bit at her words.
"that makes sense. i mean if she stays, she can have the same experiences that he had here." he said as rhia looked over at him a laughed a bit.
"yeah, from what my grandparents have told me about what they used to do, and from things i've found in the basement, leia won't have the exact same experience." she said as jay was remembering what he had seen in some photos of his mom and dad's. two two continued to walk in silence until they had split at the forman's house.
"well i'll see you tomorrow then." jay said as he waved. rhia waved back before walking inside with leia. what rhia didn't see was, as jay was walking away, he looked back.

"leia tatooine forman." leia's dad sternly said as the two teens entered the kitchen through the side door.
"her middle name is anne." leia's mom interjected her husbands anger.
"you know i never agreed to that. where have you been, and oh my god is that beer?" he exclaimed reaching to grab the cup from leia. rhia was surprised that she had kept it, her own cup had been discarded of back while they were walking.
"yeah, and i spilled the rest of it coming down from the water tower." she nonchalantly said as her dad's eyes bugged out.
"the water tower?!" he almost yelled as his wife pulled him back a bit.
"yeah, the water tower. and i had a great time and i don't want that to end. you aren't gonna like this, but i wanna stay in point place for the summer." leia said as her mom stepped up, with her dad thinking she was going to deny it.
"that took courage. i'm impressed." she said as she pulled leia into a hug. leia's dad looked even more frazzled as the teen's grandmother stood up.
"you're welcome to stay here if you want, leia." she said sweetly as their grandfather put his newspaper down.
"kitty!" he looked at her like she was crazy before quickly changing his tune.
"dad, you always talk about all the amazing times you had with your friends. i want that. i want amazing. rhia can say that she's had amazing because she's here." leia was almost begging at this point. her dad stepped back and and placed his hands on his hips.
"listen, in the past 24 hours you have gotten pierced, you've gotten beer, and you gotten extremely... snippy. you're basically someone that i don't know anymore. so no, you're not staying." he said as the everyone else looked in a slight shock.
"i knew you were going to be like this! i'm not getting in that car tomorrow! you can't make me!" leia yelled as she stormed past him into the living room.
"oh you're getting in that car tomorrow, or my foot is getting in your ass!" he yelled, immediately regretting what he had said. rhia's jaw dropped open almost immediately as her grandfather started laughing.
"uncle eric." rhia said in shock, never having heard that come out of the man's mouth in her whole life. her grandfather stood up and clapped him on the back.
"i couldn't be prouder right now. it's like watching you hit your first home run. if you had ever done that." he said has his son placed his hands over his face.
