Morte, seeing his little girl becoming a young lady, has him make the hard decision of waiting till nightfall before the two of them leave for the city. That gave him time to gather more supplies in the town and a better carriage for Ray to ride and sleep in for their journey to be sure she is comfortable through the week. Finishing packing her things she looks out the window as her mind had all day to figure out what to do and her plan is a dumb one. Watching Mort push a trunk onto the carriage feeling her stomach cramps grow worse she rolls her eyes, "Fuck being female" she growls, "And men are supposed to be the stronger of the sex they'd probably lie dead if they were to bleed for a week?"

"Thanks" Daemon says softly from behind her, "Guess it is already about time"

The girl blushes looking over her shoulder at him but looks back out the window, "He's out there and I wonder if Morte will be able to outsmart him or will he fight?"

"If nothing happens then Morte believes that he is a good Elf because all he'll do is follow you" Daemon explains, "Sadly he said that means the strategy is to be your guard tell help returns though and when that happens he hopes it is your family looking for you" he smiles a bit at the thought, but it is a small smile as that also means losing her,

"Come with!" Ray finds herself quickly saying feeling her face grow warm, Daemon shakes his head a little in disbelief,

"You know I can't do that" he frowns, stepping closer, but Ray shoves him at his shitty answer and puts her hands on the window seal leaning through it taking in a breath of air as all she has been doing is crying all day stuck in the musky cabin,

"Damnit, why can't we all go or we stay here?" Ray cries softly, "This isn't fair, not like they wanted me so badly they couldn't have gotten me fifteen years ago?"

Looking around the room unsure how to answer her questions, unsure how Morte would let him answer Daemon falls back onto her bed with his arms over his face in frustration. Ray takes another deep breath of the fresh air from out the window before she sits next to him with tears still straying down her face. Dryi8ng them up with the palms of her hands she sighs at the pain rippling in her stomach, but also her chest.

"It isn't fair" she says, "I still have two hours before Morte wishes to leave" her blue eyes look up at dusk heading over the tree line and dart to Daemon moving his arm away from his face-

"No" he says sitting up reading what is going on inside her head before she can say the words, Daemon knows her better than anyone and has known when she wished to do all her little scrams when they were little, but every time though he said no she remembers he'll give into anything she asked as long as she gives him a little push too,

"Please" she says, " I don't wish to go to them, I don't wish to be here- all these lies and secrets I don't know what to do"

"You're an Elf" Daemon says sitting up lowly, "You're going to do as Morte says, your family is going to find you or he'll get to take you home and you'll take your place with your kind"

"My kind?" she looks at him her hair in her face and he sighs softly,

"That isn't what I meant, you're their princess"

"How do you know that?" she asks, "Why am I the only one left in the dark about everything? When it is my life that you're keeping a secret from me"

"Because look how you're reacting?" Daemon snaps, "Listen to me damn it, you're going and you're not going to convince me otherwise"

A dark elf is sent to retrieve the light elf princess makes her snort and lay back, kicking her legs and smack her arms in a small fit. Sitting back up collecting herself she glares at her friend,
