Despite not falling asleep for hours into the night I somehow woke up at 5 instead of 7. I just lied there and stared into the darkness. No matter how hard I tried to calm my mind I couldn't shake this feeling of dread looming over me.

I sighed before rolling onto my side to to see Sonya in a deep sleep. I don't know how she always manages to sleep so peaceful. Most nights I'm awake about an hour after her though this was taking it to the extreme. Lately that has been happening a lot.

The sun was finally up which meant I could start my day. I was the first in line for breakfast followed by Harriet. Everyone else looked half dead. Celebrations that involve staying up so late sounds like too much stress.

"Morning Y/N. How'd you sleep?" She greeted.

"Fine,"I replied, before putting some eggs in my mouth.

"You sure? No offense but you look like you were up with the rest of us,"She said, looking me up and down.

I was saved from having to answer by Sonya taking a seat next to me. "Hey. How was your night?"I asked.

"It was fun. The Blondies name is Rachel. She remembered less than an hour in."

"That's impressive. Good for her,"I said.

"Yeah. You alright? You look exhausted,"She told me.

"Thanks,"I said sarcastically.

"You know what I mean. You've never been the best sleeper,"She added.

"I'm fine Sonya. Just a bit tired."

Neither of them looked like they believed it but thankfully let it go. I love them, but I'm not in the mood for questions.
I mean there's no proper way to tell them that I feel like I'm losing my mind, and we're all about to have something change. Especially, with no proof that either of those are true. Sometimes it's better to push things down for a bit.

I was working on melting the snow for our water when I heard it again. The Blondie alarm was going off louder than ever, or maybe it just felt louder because this shouldn't be happening. It hasn't been a month.

Everyone was trying to figure out what was happening. I decided I needed to see for myself what was going on so I made my way towards the box.
There was already a crowd of girls there, but I carefully pushed past hearing the panicked whispers.

I peered into the box to someone completely unconscious. As strange as that is there's something that tops it with no question.

"It's a boy,"Someone uttered. I couldn't believe my eyes. It had to be a girl with really short hair. Plenty of girls have short hair. There was a hoodie to. Hoodies make it hard to see faces. It's just another girl.

Yet deep down I knew I was wrong. Between all the other feelings I've had and the constant paranoia of nothing it made sense, but the situation didn't. The only good thing about this is knowing I haven't completely lost my mind.

"Someone's got to help him out. We can't leave him there,"A girl spoke up.

"Yeah right. We've never had the box come up before the months up, or anyone come up unconscious, and last time I checked we've definitely never had a boy,"Beth scoffed.
