"listen, i dont have time for this." she stated.
"i dont care. i could do this all day." he replied mockingly.
the girl gave the boy behind the counter a glare before turning around and walking away.
"where are you going?" luke asked.
"that is none of your concern." she replied.
"look, i know what youre going to do with those." he said with a nervous tone.
"i draw for gods sake." she quickly replied.
"my friend, michael, draws. he has calloused hands. you dont."
she was at a loss for words.
"whatever. ill buy sharpeners somewhere else." she finally said.
luke seemed to hesitate for a moment.
"my shift is over soon. let me give you my phone number and we can talk about things, okay?" he quickly mumbled while pulling out his phone.
she rolled her eyes as she grabbed his phone and put her number in.
"i dont need saving." she stated, getting annoyed with his persistence.
"who said i am going to save you? i thought you were an artist," he said with a wink.
"we should grab some coffee sometime and talk about your 'art skills'." he said mockingly using air quotes.
the girl simply turned and headed for the door, leaving the sharpeners on a shelf nearby.
