"Stupid Pomeranian."

Aizawa ducked his head into his neck fluff as he suppressed a small laugh. The kid tuned and the two of them locked eyes. Time froze for a moment before the child gave him a soft smile.

"Hello there, I haven't seen you around here before."

The hero rolled his eyes and shook his head while the kid sat back down, back against the wall. He even seemed to notice the hero-cat's eye roll as he began to chuckle.

"Seems like you can understand me. Well then- My name is Midoriya Izuku, nice to meet you."

Midoriya stuck out his hand and Aizawa awkwardly placed his paw in it. That made the kid brighten and he began to ramble about how the bullies weren't that bad while applying burn cream (and the fact that the kid just had this on him while at school told the hero plenty) to his wounds.

Most concerningly was the way the kid had chuckled and told him, "Don't worry about what Kachann said, I won't take that swan dive."

How he read Aizawa, particularly as a cat, baffled him. His own co-workers struggled to see though him and he knew that animals in general should be less expressive. Unless it was his tail that gave him away. No way could he control that yet.

Aizawa knew he needed to get back to UA, but right now he was far more concerned about the kid in front of him. So like any non-stalker hero, he decided to follow the kid home. He was a cat right now after all.

So against his logical judgment, he began to follow the kid as he briskly made his way home. Halfway there, the kid glanced down at him and shrugged. "I guess you can come home with me then, that's cool."

Aizawa padded into the kids home as soon as he opened the door.

"Welcome in, there isn't much to this place but..."

Midoriya gave him a full tour of the small apartment and based on the kid's blunt words and the lack of pictures or even decoration around the apartment said enough.

From what the hero could gather, the boy's mother is rarely home, always out working or drinking, and he mostly takes care of himself. His father was out of the picture as well. An off hand joke from the boy lead Aizawa to conclude that everything was due to his lack of a quirk.

He decided to watch over the kid just for tonight and was surprised when the kid brought him up, well him as in Eraserhead, not him as the cat.

"Eraserhead is probably my favorite hero by far. He works when most other heroes don't and doesn't so it for fame or money. In fact, he actively avoids the press!"

Aizawa gave the kid a questioning eyebrow which got a laugh out of him. Damn, his usual intimidating look didn't work as a cat.

"Here take a look at this!"

The hero felt his whiskers twitch in surprise and ears heat up while his listened to this kid analyze a short ten second clip of him from a few nights ago. Everything the kid noted down and said was true. Some of his closest friends like Nerumi and Zashi didn't know this much about his quirk and fighting style.

It was finally around 11 pm and the hero expected the kid to sleep. His mother had arrived him a few minutes ago and had immediately gone to her room to sleep. Aizawa's nose still twitched at the distant smell of alcohol.

Instead, the kid went to his closet and unlocked a secret panel in the back. Aizawa raised a brow at the kid and, even if it should have been unnoticeable, the kid saw it and gave a small laugh before pressing his finger to his lips.

"I need you to keep this a secret ok?"
