"Is this what you want Samantha?" Rava had asked.
After countless hours of screaming, Samantha's mind finally began to reign free. The device in her head was not enough to contain Rava's power nor their connection. The device was slowly degraded until Rava could begin to slip free of the restraints it enforced.
Additional senses, denying the false memories, impacting her in her sleep with dreams and memories. Wishing to protect her friends.
When Rava finally did break through, and Samantha had all of her memories and independent thinking back the first thought that came screaming into her head was a twisted one.
"We tried to fit in. I did everything I could for over a year to simply be a normal person. I know no matter what that's never going to happen. I will always be resented for what we are. So let the world hate me, let me give them a reason to hate me."
Her thoughts of before the incident in her home, the next day, then the two weeks where she was manipulated. They all mashed together for a much angrier version of Samantha. The intentions she had were her own, though Rava had a similar plan in mind.
"This behavior... Isn't like you." Rava admitted.
"People change sometimes," Samantha responded.
Samantha walked out into the hallway leading to the other cell blocks. The green dark spirits wore their powers openly as they ran up the hallways looking for an exit. Soldiers attempted to apprehend them and contain them, though few normal spirits were capable, and they were severely outnumbered at the moment.
"You seem to be enjoying this." Rava expressed as a smile creeps over Samantha.
"So what if I am?" Samantha says as a guard rushes out into the frenzy only to be tackled to the ground by another dark spirit.
"Your desire to help your friends is what saved you. Do not lose yourself and them in the process." Rava was oddly empathetic in this moment which surprises Samantha. She stops and stares into the chaos as it leaks into another hallway that she cannot see.
"Friends? They only were friends with the lie, the fairy tale of a child." Samantha growls which she knows ripples through Rava and excites him.
"Yet when you saved them they did not fear you. When you unleashed yourself in school they still-" Rava is cut off by Samantha.
"It won't work." Samantha marches down the hallway again. She knows the base, she knows where the red dark spirits are held, the dangerous ones.
When Samantha slips through a few empty corridors and busts through a heavily armored door she sees the cells of the red dark spirits. Rava however feels that something is wrong, they are quiet despite surely knowing what is happening. They are... calm. From behind she can feel something lurking, stalking her, lunging at her at her now sudden awareness. Samantha's tail swings upward, knocking a green into the ceiling and then crashing to the floor. Samantha turns and her tail whips out to strike the green dark spirit again. When her tail connects the dark spirit goes rolling across the floor, and the dark fog that clouds the host fades out.
"Oh Samantha, did you think we didn't put the same device you had in the others? Sure not all of them have the device, but those were... Dealt with." An intercom announces with Doctor Paul's voice. Samantha and Rava can feel it now, the hoard of green dark spirits lurking in the halls outside, the reds still in their cells now sparking with energy. She'd trapped herself.
"Rava, can you handle this?" Samantha whispers to herself. Rava laughs manically.
"I've waited for a challenge such as this for years!" Rava cackles as Samantha feels a rush of strength.
