Tony was doing the dishes as Natasha's voice rang in his head, “We owe it to everyone.”
I don't owe anyone anything, Tony thought bitterly; I gave everything to protect the world, and what do I get? I lost him. Again. I lost my son.
A photo caught his eye; it was the photo of him and Peter holding a framed certificate. The boy looked so happy. His son was happy.
Tony knew that he owes three people a chance. Pepper, I owe her our son. Morgan; she deserves to meet her big brother. And Peter; he deserves all this. The Stark Industry, the Avengers, Tony owes him so much.
Tony got to work, “Well, shit!”
“Shit!” a small voice giggled. Tony turns to see his daughter smiling at him and sitting on the steps. “Shit!” Morgan repeated.
Tony put his finger up, “Shh! We don't say that word. Only mommy says that; she coined it, it's hers.”
“What are you doing up?” Morgan smiling.
“I have a lot of shit to do…” Tony saw his daughter's confused expression. “I got a lot of my mind.”
“Is it juice pops?” Morgan asked innocently.
“Yes, it is,” Tony picked up his daughter, “juice pops. That's extortion.”
As Tony tucked his daughter in, Morgan smiled, “I love you, 3000.”
“Wow!” Tony smiles, he then was reminded of the kid he saved years ago. Peter. The kid at the expo was his son. How could he have not known?
