She's your mom. his aunt's words echoed in his mind as Peter sat in his apartment alone. How? I remember being five-years-old in my toddler bed with the racecar sheets. My mother, Sarah; how? How could I possibly be Pepper Potts child?!
His thoughts were interrupted by the door opening and May walking into the apartment. "Peter? I'm sorry," May sat down, "if I had known..."
Peter nods, "I know, May."
May pushes her glasses up her nose, "If you're up for it, there is someone here who would like to re-meet you."
Peter wasn't sure if he was ready, but how would he know, he put on his gray blazer and combed his brown hair. He grabbed his phone, putting in his back pocket before heading out. May met him at a Starbucks outside Smith Academy. May embraces her nephew, "Are you ready?"
Peter shrugs his shoulders, "I guess."
"Thank you," Pepper gestures to the seat in front of her, "you must have a lot of questions..."
Peter closes his eyes and folds his hands on the table, "Only one. How long have you known?"
Pepper leans towards him, "Since the day that Tony went to your apartment."
"Wait!" Peter sat back in shock, "Mr. Stark knew?! Why didn't he tell me?"
Pepper takes her son's hand, "Please, understand, your father and I just wanted to ensure you wouldn't get hurt."
Peter retracts his hand, "This is too much." He gets up, "I can't." Peter exits the café.
