Fire and Ice

Last time, Y/N finally got to battle in the Pokemon League competition. In his first match on the water field, Y/N got a clean sweep and didn't lose a single Pokemon. With new fans on his side, Y/N and his Pokemon were unstoppable.

Over on the Rock field, the crowd is watching the second battle on said field.

Announcer: Now, the second battle on the Rock field is nearing its climax! Each of the trainers has just one Pokemon left! The outcome of this match could very well be decided by which Pokemon these two young trainers select! Who will make the winning decision?!

???: Go! *throws a Pokeball*

A Nidorino materializes.

Announcer: And the red trainer chooses a Nidorino! Now, let's see what Pokemon the popular newcomer, Y/N L/N, chooses to face the powerful Nidorino!

Pikachu starts letting off sparks while Eevee jumps in place, ready to battle.

Y/N: I choose you, Golem! *throws a Pokeball*

Both Pikachu and Eevee fall over in surprise that Y/N didn't send one of them out as Golem materializes.

Announcer: The young trainer from Pallet chooses Golem! L/N must be hoping that Nidorino's mighty horn is no match for Golem's super hard boulder body.

Y/N: I'm counting on you! Give it everything you've got, Golem!

Golem: Golem. (You got it, buddy.)

Nidorino charges.

Misty: It's a Tackle attack!

Y/N: Get ready.

Nidorino closes in.

Announcer: Nidorino's leading off with a Tackle attack!

Y/N: Alright, Golem, Earth Power!

Golem's body briefly flashes with yellow energy and he slams his fist into the ground, creating glowing gold cracks that travel at the opponent and go under it, causing Nidorino to stop. Then a fiery orange energy erupts from the ground underneath the opponent, knocking it out.

Announcer: Golem's Earth Power was right on target, and Nidorino is shaken!

Referee: Nidorino is out of the competition! The battle and the match go to the green trainer, Y/N L/N!

Y/N: Yeah!

Y/N's friends and his fans celebrate while Gary watches on with his cheerleaders.

Announcer: And a very happy Y/N L/N will now move on to the third round of this Pokemon League competition!

Gary: Just look at him. He wins two easy matches and he's acting like he won the whole competition. *walks out of the arena* He better enjoy all his celebrating now. Because when his luck runs out, he won't have anything to cheer about. Unless they want to cheer for me, right, girls?

The cheerleaders cheer Gary on as he walks out of the arena.

With Team Rocket

Meanwhile, outside the arena, Team Rocket pops out of some garbage cans.

Jessie: Oh, what a cruel twist of fate. Thousands are all inside rooting for Y/N while Team Rocket is outside rooting through trash.

Meowth: Let's come up with some plans and get out of these cans!

James: Say! There's a way we can swipe Pokemon that I know.

Team Rocket: So, let's all get to work and get on with the show.
