Last time, Team Rocket tried to steal the central flame of the Pokemon League. Y/N and his Pokemon battled bravely, but the situation seemed hopeless. But Moltres managed to destroy Team Rocket's robot. With Team Rocket defeated, and the central flame burning brightly atop Indigo Stadium, trainers from around the world are now ready to compete in the Pokemon League competition.

In Pallet Town

Back in Pallet Town, at L/N resident, the Professor Oak, Y/N's parent, Delia, Mimey and all the supporters for both Y/N and Gary are watching the competition on television.

TV Broadcaster: Welcome, Pokemon fans, to our live coverage of the Pokemon League competition. Right now, the trainers are about to learn where they will be competing in their first round battles and who their first opponents will be.

As the broadcaster talks, the camera zooms in on Y/N and his group.

Crystal: Look, there's Y/N! Hi!

Indigo Plateau

At the competition, our hero is registering at one of the desks.

Receptionist: Welcome to Pokemon Village. I need your identification so I can check you in, please.

Brock then gets in the way.

Brock: Y/N can check in while I check out your beautiful smile. I could check that out all day.

Misty then pushes Brock aside.

Misty: It's checkout time for you, Brock.

Y/N hands the receptionist his Pokedex,

Receptionist: Is this your first time in the Pokemon League?

Y/N: Yes.

The receptionist puts the Pokédex into a machine and then enters the information from it into a computer and returns it back to Y/N.

Receptionist: Well, that's it. You're checked in.

Y/N: Thank you. Uh, miss. What field do I have to battle on, first? And who am I battling first?

Receptionist: Oh right, this is your first Pokemon League. At the Indigo Plateau Conference of the Pokemon League, they use four different battlefields. Rock, grass, water, and ice. You have to win your matches on all four battlefields before you can battle in the Indigo Stadium. All you have to do is press this button. Wherever the light stops is where your first matches are. Good luck.

Y/N presses the button, and the light lands on the water field.

Misty: That's the water field!

Y/N: Alright!

Receptionist: The water field it is. Now, the system will select your opponent.

Soon, Y/N comes up, as does his opponent.

Y/N: I guess that's the guy I'm gonna beat.

Receptionist: His name's Mandi. You're the third match.

Outside

Meanwhile, outside, Team Rocket is at it again, this time disguised as a news crew.

Jessie: Sir, you're on TV.

???: Who, me?

Jessie: I bet you're a trainer in this Pokemon League competition. Please, tell our viewers all about your rare and valuable Pokemon.
