Our heroes have finally reached the Indigo Plateau, home of the renown Pokemon League. Y/N and his friends are approaching the competition with dignity, and quiet concentration. However, Y/N is seeing shaking. whether or not it was due to excitement or anxiety is unknown.
Misty: Y/N, are you okay?
Y/N: Of course! Why wouldn't I be!?
Brock: It's just that... You're shaking like a leaf.
Y/N: Yeah, but when I think about competing in the Pokemon League, I feel like I'm gonna explode.
Brock: Explode at the opening ceremonies tomorrow.
Y/N: I'll try.
Brock: The excitement's really getting to him.
Y/N: Let's go!
Our heroes soon reach the town outside the stadium where the competition is being held and see crowds lining the streets.
Misty: What's this?
Y/N: What are they waiting for?
The crowd soon starts cheering and then run past our group to greet someone else. That being a jogger carrying a torch to the Pokemon League stadium with a Hitmonchan by his side and Officer Jenny riding behind and escorting another vehicle.
Y/N: Oh, that's what they were waiting for!
Brock: It's the torch.
Misty: They use it to light the flame that burns during the whole Pokemon League competition.
Y/N: Just like at the Olympics!
Brock: Exactly. And like Olympic athletes, the flame's supposed to inspire all the trainers and Pokemon who compete in the Pokemon League. Being one of the torch bearers is a huge honor.
Misty: There's a legend that says the flame comes from way back in ancient times from the flames of Moltres.
Y/N: I've always believed that to be true. Man, it would be so cool to meet Moltres.
Up above the crowds, Team Rocket stalks.
Meowth: Hey, look!
Jessie: Now the twerp has the torch. And his coach and training partner are his running mates.
James: That burns me up.
Meowth: If we can filch dat flame, we'll steal da spotlight fawh Team Rocket!
Jessie: That's a hot idea.
James: And we can steal lots of Pokemon, too!
Jessie: Alright! Let's go!
Down below, the runner continues to run out of town, but stops when Team Rocket make themselves known.
James: Yoo-hoo!
Everyone look up.
Jessie: Prepare for trouble!
James: Make it double!
Jessie: To protect the world from devastation!
James: To unite all peoples within our nation!
Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love!
James: To extend our reach to the stars above!
Jessie: Jessie!
James: James!
Team Rocket leaps down to the surface.
Jessie: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!
James: Surrender now, or prepare to fight!
