'Past' Annabelle's POV
After sitting in the cockpit with Hank to cool down, I decided to go and sit with Logan. As I walked out, I felt two pairs of eyes on me, but I ignored them. I sat across from Logan, who was reading the paper. "How are you feeling?" He asked with genuine concern. "Better." I smiled. "I just wish they could both get along like before Cuba." I sighed. I looked up to Logan. "The better question is how are you? It must be weird going from your time to now?" I asked him, but he just chuckled. "I will admit, it was strange at first. One minute I was in 2023, then I open my eyes and it's like I've stepped through a time machine." We shared a smile. "Can you tell me more about Eden?" I asked. "What do you want to know?" He asked with a smile.
'Past' Erik's POV
I watched Annabelle and the new mutant interact. They were laughing together about something he had said, but not loud enough so I could hear it. A feeling arose in my chest and it took me by surprise. "Don't get jealous." Charles had said from beside me. "I'm not!" I protested, but he just shot me a look. "The chess pieces say differently." He said, and I glanced toward them and saw them lightly humming with energy. I looked back up to Charles, to see he was facing out the window. "I didn't kill the president." I told him, but he shook his head, and scoffed, still avoiding eye contact. "The bullet curved Erik." He said. "Because I was trying to save him. They took me out before I could." I explained. "Why would you try and save him?" Charles asked, turning to look at me. "Because he was one of us." I said. Charles' eyes softened, as he searched mine for the truth. He let out a sigh. "You must think me so foolish. Annie knew, she was so convinced you didn't do it. But I never believed her." He said, regret clouding his face. I turned to look over at them, and they were deep in conversation. "You've always said they would come after us." Charles said. "I never imagined they'd use Raven's DNA to do it." I added. "When did you last see her?" He asked me. "The day I left for Dallas." I said, sitting down opposite my old friend. "And how was she?" He questioned. "Strong, driven, loyal." I described. "How was she?" Charles asked again. "She was...we were...I could see why she meant so much to you." I confessed, only to be met with accusing eyes. "You didn't go behind Annabelle's back did you?" He asked, a sour sounding tone to his voice. My eyebrows formed a frown. "God no! I wouldn't dare hurt her like that!" I said. Charles nodded. "Good, because you and I both know she'd kill you." He warned. I sighed with a distant smile. "Erik, go talk to her. I'm sure out of the two of us, she'd rather see you right now." He told me. I looked to him for reassurance, to which he nodded.
'Past' Annabelle's POV
"She really loves you both and she would do anything for the ones she loves. I've seen it first hand. You both raised a beautiful human and I'm glad to be part of your family." Logan said. "I can't wait to meet her. To see our lives together in the future." I smiled. Before Logan could say anything else, he cleared his throat and darted his eyes behind me. I turned to see Erik with a bottle of something looking hopeful. "Will you accept my apology with a glass of (the same drink as before)?" He asked. "I know last time we didn't really get to have a bit." He said with a mischevious grin. "I'll leave you two to talk." Logan said, excusing himself. I shot him a thankful look and he sat near Charles. Erik sat where Logan was, and watched him sit down. "I see you and that mutant are getting along." He said, with a hint of jealousy in his tone. I shot him a look and then smiled. "His name is Logan, and trust me, you have nothing to worry about." I told him. He made a noise and poured us both a drink with a chuckle. "You know, I haven't had a real sip in ten years." He said before drinking some. I watched him drink, before picking up my glass and sipping some myself. His eyes locked with me and put his glass down. "Annabelle, I apologise for bringing you into my arguement with Charles. It was a stupid thing to do and I didn't mean it at all." Erik said, placing a hand over mine. I put my glass down and looked at him. I searched his eyes, and realised how much I had actually missed him. I brought my face closer to his, and placed a gentle kiss onto his lips. I sat back down in my seat. "I accept your apology. But you have to understand that on the beach in Cuba, that wasn't an easy decision to make. As much as I wanted to go with you, I stayed with Charles to help him and Hank. Never to hide. I need you to understand that, Erik." I told him. He nodded in response. "I understand Annie. I'm sorry." He apologised again. I shot him a smirk. "Now can you come and sit next to me and say hello properly?" I asked and he grinned. "You don't have to tell me twice, liebling." He said, moving to my side. Once he was sat, I turned to face him and I leaned in to press my lips to his.
Paris
Today was the day we changed history. We pulled up outside the venue, and were stopped at the gates. Before we could get investigated, Erik lifted the barrier with his power, after I threw the guards against the wall with mine. That seemed to be my favourite at the moment. We drove through, and hurried up the stairs to the conference. "Raven!" Charles yelled from the door, just as she was about to shoot Trask. The distraction, however, allowed one of the soldiers to tase her. Erik pulled the taser from Raven, and directed at the man who had fired it. "Raven, Raven?" Charles said, rushing to her aid. He began speaking to her, but I had one thing in mind and one thing only. I used my power to bring the pistol to me, which alerted her of my plan. "Annie?" She asked frantically, sitting up. Charles turned around, and his eyes widened. "Annabelle, what are you doing?" Charles said, bringing everyone's attention to me. "Securing my baby's future." I said. "Forgive me Raven. As long as you're out there, we'll never be safe." I said. "Annie." Hank tried to reason. "Use your power Charles, stop her." Raven urged Charles. "He can't." I said. She got up to run, and Hank tackled me before I could shoot. But Erik used his power to hold the gun and fire it. After wrestling Hank off me, I stood up and headed for the window Raven had just jumped from. I could hear footsteps behind me, and assumed they were Erik's. I flew down, and zoned in on the woman limping away. Using my ability, I pulled her body towards me. She screamed in pain, but in that moment, I didn't care. I stared down at her and watched as she writhed in pain on the pavement. "Annie. Annie, please." She cried. I held her body and watched her suffer some more, until the bullet was ripped out of her leg. She howled in agony, and I turned to see Erik, he held the bullet in hand. "Erik. Wait." She pleaded. "I'm sorry." He said. Before he had a chance to let it go. Hank jumped onto his back, causing him to bang his head off the floor. He ran to grab him, and threw him into the fountain. When I saw that his head wasn't coming up and the water started thrashing, I went over to assist. I threw Hank into the air, and let Erik get up. He then used his power to bend the metal poles in the fountain and wrap them around Hank's arms and legs, restraining him.
We looked around for Raven, but realised all the cameras were on us. We started walking away, but some guards approached us from behind. Erik took car of them, and I directed the cameras away from us.~~~~~~
After escaping the hysteria on the streets, Erik and I checked into a hotel. In the background, a man was speaking French on the TV. No doubt about the events that had happened less than an hour ago. Erik had smacked his head off the floor, so I was stitching up the wound whilst he looked through the plans for the Sentinels, which I didn't realise he took. Once I had finished, I glanced to the TV and saw them swabbing Raven's blood off the pavement. "Fuck." I said, drawing the attention of Erik. He turned to the TV, and watched as well. Erik let out a sigh and hung his head.
"Annie, I need to ask you something." He said, looking up at me. "Come here?" He asked, motioning in front of him. I moved in front of him and placed my hands on his knees. "What's the matter?" I asked, searching his eyes for some kind of hint. "What did you mean in the Conference room by 'securing your baby's future'?" He questioned, with a look of hope and desperation. I smiled up at him and changed my position so I was on my knees and somewhat level with his face. "Erik, we have a baby in the future. Together. Her name is Eden Lensherr." I said. Erik's whole demeanor changed, his shoulders softened, and his eyebrows raised a little. "We do?" He asked. "Yeah. We do. I can't wait for us to meet her." I told him. I smiled as tears welled in his eyes and he chuckled. "Fuck." He said. I looked at his eyes and they had suddenly grown darker. "So does that mean you changed that way to protect our daughter?" He asked, voice huskier. "Yeah. I'd do anything for our baby." I told him. Erik growled. "What's stopping me from giving you one right now?" He asked. "Absolutely nothing." I told him, leaning up and pressing a hard kiss to his lips.Once we had spent the night together, we woke up the next day and headed to the nearest subway station. "Wait here will you? I just need to pee." I told Erik, to which he nodded and walked to one side of the station.
I did what needed to be done, and came back out to see Erik frantically searching for something or someone. "Hey." I said, making him spin round. "It's just me. What's up?" I asked. He shook his head dismissively. "Nothing to worry about, come on." Erik said.~~~~~~
