Disclaimer - I don't recall the X-Men ever learning what Apocalypse's name was, so in this chapter, I just refer to him as 'the blue man,' 'the blue mutant' and more often, 'the mutant.' So don't be confused when you're reading when I refer to Apocalypse.

Annabelle's POV

A noise behind us brought our attention to the jet leaving. Without any warning, the plane changed course and plummeted toward the ground. "Charles." I said. I turned back to Erik. "I'm going to go fight for what I have left. Are you?" I asked. Erik watched as I turned my back on him and Peter grabbed my neck. Shooting him one last look, Peter and I sped down to the ground. "I need to do something first." He had told me once we stopped. He ran off in a hurry and the next time I saw him, he had a foot stuck in the ground and the blue man stood infront of him. "Foolish Child." He sneered. As Peter went to hit him, he grabbed his arm and twisted it back. The kicked his leg so it snapped. He let out a cry of pain. One of the new mutants approached him and drew a weapon with her power. "End him." He commanded.

"Not today sweetheart." I said, using my power to launch her into a building. She definitely wouldn't recover from that. The blue mutant snarled and locked his hand around my throat. I grabbed his arm as he took me by surprise. "You could've used your power for the better, but you denied me. You are feeble, just like the others." He spat. "Charles! Rescue your weaklings!" He yelled, holding me up as bait. "Give your life for theirs!" He shouted. Objects around me started levitating from my Telekinesis, as my breath started to falter. "Charles! Will you do nothing?" He cried, as my hands fell limp beside me. Just as I was about to take my last breath, he let me fall to the ground, being occupied by something else. I coughed and spluttered on the floor regaining my breath. My neck throbbed from being compressed for that long and it would no doubt leave a bruise.
Just as the mutant was about to reach Charles, two metal pillars formed the shape of an X infront of him. "You betray me?" He questioned, turning up to face Erik. "No. I betrayed them." Erik said, bringing shards of metal up to him before firing them down to the mutant. I was too weak to do anything, so I watched as the mutant effortlessly deflected the metal. Peter tried desperately to escape from the ground, but he failed. Hank and Scott jumped down and Hank ran over to me. "Come on, I got you." He said, carrying me over his shoulder and moving over to Peter, he smashed the ground relentlessly until the speedster was free. Hank ran us over to cover and told us to stay put, as he went back in the chaos. It was short lived though, when he was flung into a car. I saw Erik straining as he was using all he had.
I straightened myself up and was about to stand up, but Peter stopped me. "What are you doing? You're not strong enough." He protested. "I have to help him." I argued, but Peter held his good arm out. "You can't. Think of your kids, they need their Mom and Dad to go home. Don't risk it. Please, for them." Peter reasoned and I reluctantly agreed.

When all hope was gone and I thought we were going to lose, Jean stepped up and became unhinged. She released all the power she had, and it stripped the mutant of his armour and protective shield. Erik shot down metal and it stabbed him multiple times, Scott then directed his power at the mutant, which was rapidly decreasing his protection. However, he summoned a portal shield around him, only to have it ripped away by a girl with white hair. With one last outburst, Jean reduced the blue mutant to atoms. She stood victoriously above his remains, and everyone emerged from their cover. Erik landed on the ground and his eyes searched around. "Erik." I called, announcing where I was. His eyes met mine, and he rushed over. "Annie! I can't even begin to say how sorry I am. I never meant for this to happen, I was just so angry that they took Reign I didn't know what else to do I-" He began to explain. "Erik. Shut up. I don't care for your apologies." I told him and his eyes held hurt. "I'm just glad you changed your mind." I smiled, which he returned. "Now please can you help us get to the others?" I asked with a chuckle.

The next day, I was stood on the field outside the mansion with Erik. He had given me one of his old turtlenecks he had lying around to cover the handprint bruise around my neck, so the kids didn't see. "They've missed you terribly, you know that don't you?" I asked him, but he didn't have to answer because two voices confirmed it. "Mama! Papa!" They shrieked. We turned around they collided into us. "Oh my babies, I've missed you!" Erik said happily, picking them both up in each arm. He grinned as they buried their heads into his shoulders. "I love you." He mouthed to me. I mouthed it back and looked around for Charles. My eyes met Peter's who was watching from a distance in a cast. I sent him a subtle nod of appreciation and he returned it. Peter decided he wasn't ready for Erik to know he was his son, and I wasn't going to pressure him into it.When Charles had appeared with Jean, he gave us the signal. Because of our powers, Erik, Jean and I were going to rebuild the mansion so that the kids had a place to learn. It had only taken the rest of the day, but it looked as good as new once we were done.

Erik and I decided to create a mutant safehaven for those who wanted to live a somewhat normal life, but without the pressure from the government. So a month later we were bidding our goodbyes to my brother. "The world's already begun rebuilding it's arsenals." Charles said as we watched Raven teach the new generation of X-Men. "It's human nature Charles." Erik scoffed. "I still have hope." He stated. "Oh yes. Hope." Erik chuckled. "I was right about Raven. I was even right about you." Charles defended, but Erik shot him a glare at the last bit. "What about the rest of the world? Doesn't it ever wake you up in the middle of the night? The feeling that one day they'll come for you and your children?" Erik asked. "It does indeed." My brother said. "What do you do when you wake up to that?" My husband pushed. "I feel a great swell of pity for the poor soul that comes to my school looking for trouble." Charles said. Erik just nodded. "You're sure I can't convince you both to stay?" Charles asked. "You're psychic, little brother. You can convince us to do anything." I smirked. "But do stay out of my children's heads. They want to and I quote 'become a superhero and learn with Uncle Charlie.' That's not cool by the way, you've only known them a week." I laughed, patting him on the shoulder. "Goodbye old friend. Goodbye Annabelle." Charles called after us. "Good luck Professor." Erik called back.

Okay umm, so that's the end of Apocalypse. I wasn't expecting it to be three chapters long. It almost feels rushed. Even this Chapter is pretty short. I probably could've made it two really long Chapters, but I didn't realise this one was going to be so short. Unfortunately that only leaves Dark Phoenix left for this story, so it's nearly at an end. I'm thinking of writing a 'Spin Off' kind of thing, but it's in Eden's POV through the 'Future' X-Men's with old Charles, Erik and Annie. I haven't decided yet. Let me know what you think in the comments, I'll be interested to see your thoughts. Without further ado...
