My work is literally like so good! (white girl voice). I need to give myself more credit because I truly don't think y'all understand or know how important my poetry is to me. The word choice I choose, the metaphors, similes, analogies are all intentional. I try really hard to be explicit in what I'm trying to say because just know, whatever I've written, I've been through. I've experienced it and somehow made it on the other side. My poetry is a letter to myself on what I've achieved and where I'm going. It's a reminder that I'm a creative and that my work matters. Even if it's not on the bookshelves of a library or showcased to the world. This is my world and I'm just happy at what I've created out of it. 🤭
