you didn't I promise. I just got in my head and thought your life would have been better if I wasn't in but that's not my decision to make.

Jack
my life could never possibly be better without you in it.

Can you come over so I can try and explain?

Jack
yes, I'll be there soon. but if you don't want to explain anything I won't force you.

"Hey," Jack says softly as he walks into the living room "Hey," I look up at him with a half smile. There was an awkward silence when he sat down next to me, I just didn't know how to start.

"I'm sorry," I say looking down and playing with the rings on my fingers "You have nothing to be sorry for," He says and I can feel his gaze on me 

"I shouldn't have ignored you, I was- I was just scared," I say not meeting his gaze "Scared of what?" He asks confused 

"I don't know, maybe I wouldn't be good enough for you or I'd just get hurt again," I shrug "Thea, you will always be enough for me, and I hate that you don't realize how important you are to not only me but everyone," He says while grabbing my hands and holding them in between his 

"I like you, like really like you and I would never be so stupid to mess that up," He says and I look up at him "Look if you don't want whatever we are to go anywhere, it won't. I value keeping you in my life more than ruining it because you don't want to be with me," He says and I shake my head no 

"That's not it, trust me, I want more than anything to just be with you because I like you and I haven't liked anyone this much in forever, I just think you deserve better," I say and he tilts his head 

"No, I don't, because there is no one better than you in my eyes, you're perfect to me and I just wish there were a way I could show you that," he says now rubbing his thumb over the top of my hand 

"The way you smile when you're talking about something you love is probably my favorite thing or the way you never fail to make anyone laugh even if they're having a bad day. Or how you play with the rings on your finger when you are anxious or upset. I like every little thing about you, Althea," He says and I try not to smile 

"Do you want me to keep going 'cause I can?" He says and I laugh "No, I think I'm good," I say and he smiles 

"from now on I want you to let me decide if I want you in my life or not," He says and I nod "I'm sorry," I say softly 

"Stop saying sorry, you have nothing to be sorry for," He says sincerely while looking into my eyes "If you ever feel like you aren't good enough for me again, tell me, because I will tell you every little thing that made me fall for you just so you know that you're the only person I want," He says and I smile 

"I really like you," I say and he smiles "And I really like you," He says before putting his left hand on the side of my face and pulling me in for a kiss 

It is slow but passionate and full of affection and care. I smile as he pulls me in closer and my hands go to the nape of his neck and I run my finger through his hair. "Can't tell you how long I've waited for that," He says pulling away so we can catch our breaths 

"Bet I've waited longer," I laugh as our forehead lean on each other "No way," he says before pulling me back in and I laugh through the kiss.

I know some of you are gonna want smut but I don't know if Jack is comfortable about any of that which he probably isn't so, for now, I will not be writing full-on smut for him, but they will kiss and go a little further but that's it.
