"Why is this so heavy, how many did you buy?" Yeonjun complained grabbing one of the boxes standing in the corner of Soobin's room. It was signed 'Comics'.
"Leave it then," Soobin sighed and took over the box from his hands. He put it in the middle of the room. "Just unpack it on the shelves. Any order is fine," he said ripping the tape off the carton.
"Ok!" Yeonjun exclaimed, getting on his knees. His hands started searching through the comics. Surprisingly, they were already sorted nicely in the box, so he thought it shouldn't take him an eternity to place them on the bookshelf.
Soobin came back to sorting his clothes in the wardrobe. The music in the background helped them overcome the silence. Yeonjun hummed along to the song playing, a smile plastered to his face, as he focused on placing the books in the right order.
"You really like reading them, don't you?" Yeonjun joked. Good thing, they had their backs turned to each other, so he didn't see Soobin's blush. "You still have this one?" The boy exclaimed, the other looked at him over his shoulder. "It's so old, remember when we would read it during breaks?"
Yeonjun started laughing and reminiscing, his smile grew bigger. Soobin made his way to him and took a book from him. Without a word, he opened it. The little polaroid photo was hidden between the pages. The middle schoolers were grinning, holding their small pillows at the airport. Two families decided to go on holiday together that one time. The nostalgia hit Yeonjun making him smile wildly.
"I forgot about this photo."
Soobin was about to say something when Yeonjun's phone suddenly rang. Yeonjun reached for it, on the screen it said 'Bumjunie hyung'. He peeked at Soobin, who was staring at the screen now.
"Won't you answer?" He asked, which made Yeonjun flustered. Then, he put the phone to his ear and turned his body to the side, so he wouldn't have to face Soobin while talking. It felt wrong in some unexplainable way.
"Hi... Oh, I can't today..." His voice was quiet. Soobin leaned against the bookshelf and waited for him. "Oh, the post? You saw?... Yes, with him, he came back..." The conversation piqued Soobin's interest, but he pretended to go through the comic. It wasn't difficult to understand, that it was about him. "Tomorrow? I'm free... I'll just take the bus, don't worry...Ok, then, but let me know a bit earlier... Mhm, I have to go now, see you..." Yeonjun took a while to hang up. When he finished, he looked at Soobin. The boy didn't even attempt to look unbothered, his tongue poked one side of his cheek, and he stared at his friend. Yeonjun smiled shyly.
"The person you like? Bumjune? Him, really?" Soobin chuckled trying to process that information. "Out of everyone, Yeonjun," he whined even more putting on a long face.
"He's not that bad, Soobin. You argued years ago, and still don't like each other, this is so immature," Yeonjun whined, he put his phone in the back pocket of his jeans.
"He was being a prick for no reason, always picking fights with me," Soobin explained. "Do you really have to go with him tomorrow?" He said under his breath, and only after he realized it, he said it out loud. "Anyway, I'm happy, you're happy." Soobin coughed, then went back to sorting his clothes.
"You don't sound like you are..." Yeonjun mumbled to himself.
Bumjune was a year older than them. However, he was close friends with Choi Yeonjun since they were kids since their fathers knew each other. Bumjune would hang out often at their house, even when Yeonjun's friends were there. However, he and Soobin were never on good terms. They would always fight, making Yeonjun irritated by their behavior. It led to the point when Yeonjun would avoid the two from meeting one another.
