Running at the mach speed of one, Sonic rolls around bashing badniks along the way. He's seen the usual. A buzz bomber here, a motobug there. All of it was getting pretty boring. It doesn't exactly help when the last adventure he could think of that really sent his adrenaline running just so happened to be the start of when Team Dark joined G.U.N. Rouge said it made jewel hunting easier. Whatever the case, the blue hedgehog of unusually fast speed was happy that Shadow got his memory back and was making his own purpose. The only problem was that now Sonic doesn't have anything more to do right now. Heck! He even started to have strange dreams, which doesn't exactly help when he reads famous fables from Arabian Nights.

'Man I'm bored! I wonder what more I haven't seen yet. There's still some places in the United Federation that I haven't yet explored... And Egghead's been REAL quiet since the whole black arms thing that went on.' Sonic thinks as he runs but then remembers something from earlier. 'A while back I heard some new swatbots were making there way to some parts of a kingdom called Soleanna... They also have a festival coming up from what Cream and Vanilla were saying... heh. Sounds like fun!' He speeds up rearing for the new adventure ahead.

Dani wanders around the town. Now finished with her errands she wonders if she should just leave the basket with the supplies by the priest's door. She has already made her way to the castle. The royal priest's study was a few corridors away. She made him a flower bracelet as a peace offering. She hoped that maybe it would soften the tension between them. She didn't understand why he would give her mean looks. She didn't understand why he was so secretive about things either. He treated Elise less than an ordinary girl as well. 'Maybe being given something will soften him... Make him less mean...' She thinks to herself. Before she turns the cooridor to the study however, she can feel something yank her hoodie. It's enough to stop her. She looks behind her but she doesn't see anything but her own shadow. She looks down the hall to see the head guard and the priest having a heated conversation. She stays behind the corner watching.

"When the light comes back, arrest her. The time has come" The Priest sternly says. The Head of the Royal Guards Pietro stares at the Priest dark with worry. "But sir, the princess has not been informed of our ritual for the summer solstice. Nor has the people. They will be outraged-"

"I don't care! It is best we sacrifice the light and snuff her out during the festival to insure that when the scepter breaks or when Elise inevitably cries that our country-No! The world does not perish by flames or darkness!"

The priest has a nervous anger in his voice. Pietro frowns miserably. "But she is just 23... She is a hedgehog who has a lot to live for..."

"She isn't a hedgehog! She isn't even 23! She is over 20,000 years old! She is ageless! They are all ageless! And she is the key to destroying the flames of disaster and the darkness! If we don't do something now our world will feel the wrath of our eternal sun god! The duke was stupid as to trap our god for that stupid project! I am teaching the ways of a god that no longer exists! My faith is a sham Pietro! Now grab the light, she should be making her way back to the castle soon. I will be studying. She will burn and the rest of Solaris will be nothing but ash!"

The brown hedgehog hides her face in her hoodie sleeve. 'I knew that something was in the scepter... How could the priest... the guard.... everyone... use me... use Elise.... How could they... How could they....What... What am I? Are they seriously gonna sacrifice me?' Dani starts shaking and crying. Amber tears trickled down her cheek as she sniffled. She then gets up, leaving the basket. She looks at the scepter with a cold determined expression. "I don't know what or who you are... but we are leaving this place for good. I can't release you due to the ritual... but we don't deserve to be treated like this..." She runs out of the castle crying. Some maidens doing last minute cleaning call out to her but she ignores them. She flies away. With the sun setting she looks like a shooting star in the sky.
