The Lost Story Of Sonic The Hedgehog 2006.

The Crust.

Shadow and Rouge wait by the randevous for Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. The white bat holds the chaos emerald in her hand with a sly smirk, most likely thinking of how sweet it would be to tease Knuckles on her findings. Shadow however, had his arms crossed as he looks towards the barren lands and tree's with barely any life to them. 'Strange. I didn't think tree's could live let alone survive in this time.' Shadow's thoughts are cut short when Sonic and his team show up.

"You guys are so slow." Rouge says as she shows them a bright green Chaos Emerald, making sure each, and especially Knuckles gets a good look at it. "Look." She smiles slyly as Knuckles gives a small reaction to her victory.

"A Chaos Emerald! You've already found one!" Tails shouts in both surprise and shock at how quickly she managed to find one already.

"Well now, I may not look it, but I am a real treasure hunter." Rouge boasts as she looks at Knuckles again, who then avoids eye contact with her. Too frusterated to speak he turns his back.

"Unlike a certain echidna I know." That done it.

Knuckles stomps towards her. "What?" They are now face to face staring down eachother before Knuckles turns away once more. "Heh." He humphs as he now puts distance between the bat and himself.

Shadow, still with his arms crossed, now leaning against a tree looks at Tails. "Have you guys discovered anything?"

Tails thinks on how to explain. "Um, Yeah." He then points towards a direction leading to a cavern inside a volcano. "I recieved a signal indicating a Chaos Emerald here but..."

"You mean we've to go through there?" Rouge asks in disbelief.

Knuckles takes a jab at her. "If you don't like it, you can stay here."

Rouge puts her hand at her hip. "You've got to be kidding!"

Shadow now steps away from the tree as Sonic points at him giving a smirk. "Don't be late."

Shadow steps towards the enterance and as he gets close to Sonic. "Same to you."

Shadow then takes off before Sonic could even process the race starting and with that Sonic heads off along with the rest to follow.

----Meanwhile----

Dani watches and looks at the tree's curiously. "Huh. Why are there tree's? Shouldn't the flames and heat make it hard to bear life in the land?"

Mephiles appears before her once more and answers. "Someone made a great sacrifice to keep Iblis away. In doing so some managed to survive the day of distaster."

A slight startled flinch was made as she had not expected Mephiles to appear so suddenly. "Oh. Were they one of Sonic's friends? They sound cool."

"That answer has yet to be determined..." Mephiles states.

Dani takes a minute to process what he said before speaking again. "I sorta noticed something. The way you answer my questions or don't answer them. You haven't lied to me like you have to Silver."

Mephiles doesn't speak for a moment. After some silence he speaks. "I will only answer about your observation if you answer me this. Why do you care so much for this present world?"

Dani look away from the screen and at Mephiles with a calm expression before managing a smile. "Becuase, I believe others can change and grow. To learn from their mistakes or folly as you called it."

This angers Mephiles, his eyes slightly slit as he scowls at her before looking in the monitor at Shadow and then back at her. Dani isn't smiling anymore and looks away from him.
