There was once a small town nestled deep in the woods, surrounded by trees that towered high into the sky, their branches reaching out like skeletal fingers towards any who dared to venture too close. It was said that strange things happened in that town, that it was cursed by a witch who had been hunted down and burned at the stake centuries ago.

No one knew for sure if the rumors were true, but they all felt it in their bones. The air was thick with an ominous feeling, and strange sounds could be heard coming from the woods at night, like whispers carried on the wind. But despite all of this, the townspeople went about their days as usual, trying to ignore the creeping sense of unease that seemed to cling to them.

One night, a young girl named Emily decided to take a walk in the woods. She had always been fascinated by the tales of the witch and wanted to see if there was any truth to them. As she walked deeper into the forest, she began to feel a sense of dread wash over her. She tried to turn back, but the path seemed to twist and turn, leading her farther and farther away from the safety of the town.

Soon, the trees were so thick that she could barely see the moonlight filtering through the leaves. She heard strange noises, like the rustling of leaves and the snapping of twigs, but no matter how hard she looked, she couldn't see anything that could be making them.

Suddenly, she heard a voice whispering in her ear, but when she spun around, there was no one there. She turned back around and saw a pair of glowing eyes staring at her from the darkness ahead. She froze, unable to move as the creature stepped closer and closer, revealing itself to be a hideous, twisted version of the witch from the town's legends.
