The Babysitter and the Man Upstairs
This urban legend is about a babysitter who receives a call from a man asking if she can come and babysit his children. The babysitter agrees and heads over to the house. Once she arrives, the man tells her that the children are already asleep and that she should just relax and watch TV until he returns.
As the babysitter is watching TV, she starts receiving strange phone calls from an unknown caller. The caller keeps asking if she has checked on the children and if they are okay. The babysitter becomes increasingly frightened and decides to call the police.
The police trace the calls and discover that they are coming from inside the house. The man who hired the babysitter was actually a killer who had already murdered the children and was planning to kill the babysitter as well.
This urban legend has been told in various forms and has become a cautionary tale about the dangers of trusting strangers and the importance of being aware of your surroundings. It has also been the inspiration for many horror movies and TV shows.
