Things had gotten intense to say the least over the past few days, same old though, randhir was distant, Sanyukta was in a mess with her mom's illness and the phone calls that made her leave everything and rush to her mom, same old because she kept calling him asking him to drop her home in emergencies, but well he was busy, that's what he said, that's what she dint believe..
Today she had been put under the gunpoint because some goons attacked her and her Prince charming came running for her, to protect her, he always would, wouldn't he? Only yesterday he had dragged her out of the lab.. When there was a blast, only yesterday he had risked his life for her and then again today, everytime she felt overwhelmed with his love and care, still it pricked her there was a void..
Did she have to be in a life threatening situation to get his support? Did she have to be at the edge of life and death and only that would garner his attention? It annoyed her how for a minute she felt him asking her to stay back in college for no reason, he had said " don't go home na? We'll do some work.. Something" there had been no work and he'd just wanted to be with her, then the next minute he would vanish.. Walk away.. Saying bye..
She had started to give up, there at home her mom's doctor had been ever so helpful, she wondered how now days she saw his face more than randhir, no, she dint chose that, it just happened to be so.. She dint like it, but life was that way for now.. Forever? She dint know? One thing she knew she wanted to become a big engineer and no one would stop her from becoming that..
As she came to college she knew she wanted her mentor to be back, she believed in him and it was stressful that no one else did, not even HIM, the one guy who always supported her, they had this blind trust, she had waltzed in asking " why don't you trust me this time randhir? He's a genius, we need him, you've always supported me" he had barked back " this time you're wrong, that's why , you're not always right, and even if you are, he's gone now, so let go"
Huh.? She though? Let go? Now days it looked like he seemed way to casual about things she retorted " maybe you can let go, anyway now days you've been letting a lot of things go randhir, tomorrow when you wake up you may realise there's nothing left anymore" he knew she wasn't referring to her mentor anymore, yes her mentor, he never accepted that guy as his.. Yet it hit him hard because he knew what she was pointing at.. He has let THEM go.. They had stopped being them in a while and he knew it was him and his load of secrets, his lies, that was making her trust falter..
That night he just couldn't sleep at night, he thought he'd call her, but there was no answer, he had called incessantly, she had cut the phone the first few times..because she dint feel she had her randhir anymore ,he was just another dream team member, just another guy who was against her in her decision, just another guy who didn't know what she was as going through and a guy whose story wasn't her story anymore..
Little did she know that when she was lost in thoughts.. Her mom held her ringing phone in her hand, staring at it and then at her, her demeanour not relaxed at all..
