"Now you're asking me to listen

Her sleep wasn't sound, her thoughts were stuck on what he said whilst he thought she was asleep, murmuring a sorry into the air, wanting her to listen somehow and turn and look at him and say it's okay randhir? Wanting her in general to talk because he missed her? Where had he been when she way dying to talk to him? When she was trying so hard to break through.. He Din't miss her then so why now?
The next morning when she woke up, she saw him looking at her with a soft expression, when she zoomed in more she realised he hadn't slept all night, his eyes were red and the dark circles on his fair skin made it very evident, she felt her heart squeeze but no she was here for a mission, to take her mentor back, she would do that and leave, randhir wasn't her priority as of now..
He leant forward to touch her cheeks, his fingers touching her morning skin, he had stayed up all night because he wasn't satisfied with the place being safe he couldn't risk it, not when she was involved, he had to protect her, he felt he was born to do that, he felt the initial years of his life were meaningless, from the time he had met her, she was his one true reason to live..
She shut her eyes on feeling his fingers brush her skin but her thoughts had already reached to the priority point, she moved her head the other way and sat up, looking at him with a stern expression, then she just walked off, she had never flinched from his touch, not even when they used to be enemies, she never felt repulsed and she never made him feel that she didn't want him around..
He followed her and saw her trying to convince ranawat sir to come back, sir threw his drink glass at her and a piece hurt her leg but she didn't budge, she kept convincing, that's when it hit randhir, she actually did believe in him more than he thought, he tried to pull her back so that she wouldn't stand on the broken glass anymore but she flung his hand away " sir please come back.. We need you, we can't proceed without you"
Randhir actually started to question why he came here? She dint seem to need him at all and that hurt, then he said to himself that it was for her safety and that's going to be his priority for life whether she wants it or no, ranawat finally agreed and randhir couldn't care less, he was just happy he could take her back safely..
The bus ride was where he decided he'll speak to her. He had to, sowething felt wrong, sitting beside her staring at her looking out if the window he couldn't form a sentence " sanyukta I want to.." she cut him midway.. " I don't want to randhir, whatever it is, I don't want to, I'm tired" then she closed her eyes and pretended to sleep..
Before leaving the hostel parth had warned him about ignoring sanyukta to an extent that he would eventually lose her, it all came back to him. He felt that he had lost her already, and these thoughts made him so restless, when he thought she was asleep, he pulled her into his chest so she could rest her head on his shoulders comfortably, his hand on her hair, caressing it, atleast he could hold her close this way, atleast she wouldn't flinch now..
Little did he know that she was awake and she wanted rather needed this moment way more than him ❤ she dint want to fight about it, not when she felt peace engulf her the way it never had in this entire month..
