What's to Come?

"Blake... Blake!"

Her eyes flutter open.

"(Y/N)..."

"Is this your only real wound?"

I gesture toward the stab wound at the side of her waist.

"M-Mhm..."

She weakly confirms, resting her head back.

"Adam... What happened?"

"He fled. Got to escape thanks to Meili. And then SHE got to escape thanks to Cinder. And then SHE wouldn't even stick around once I showed her Mercury's shadow."

I sigh.

"And... It's still not over. Beacon Tower has become unstable, the evacuation effort is still being worked on, and I have the energy to keep fighting."

I gently pick Blake up, ensuring I move her as little as possible.

"Once I've got you where you're safe, I'm leaving."

"... I'll see you after this, right?"

"... I'm not sure what 'this' is or when it will be over, Blake. So..."

I quickly, yet smoothly, arrive at an area with multiple grounded ships. People on stretchers and in tents are being tended to. Mostly students, but there are a few festival-goers that were wounded. And...

I look beyond the tents to see tens, if not hundreds of bodies, covered entirely by white sheets.

"Every single one of those bodies was a life.

"Children. Elderly. Parents. Siblings. Students. Teachers. They all had experiences. Lived an entire life, suffered and cried, laughed and smiled. They all lived, and I refuse to forget that. I refuse to forget that this was taken from them. Taken by Cinder. By Emerald. By Meili. By whomever thinks this tragedy is justified. I don't care who stands above all of this, I will mutilate them."

I gently lay Blake on sheets a medic had prepared.

"Blake... Stay safe. And... Don't forget Yang's sacrifice."

"Sacri..."

Blake gasps, her distress painfully clear in her eyes.

"I'm sorry I wasn't a better friend. And... I hope I wasn't the worst leader."

Skill: Speed

Can't rest.

I have to keep fighting.

I have to do all I can.

If I'm still standing, why isn't it in front of a Grimm? How many more lives can I keep from extinguishing?
