The school year starts off like any year would, but with one major difference that I face...
I've been getting a lot of level ups due to my daily routine. I mostly put it into STR and AGI, so I've been feeling faster and stronger as the days go by. Unfortunately as I increase in level, it becomes harder to level up... But hey, after couple months of finally getting settled into classes, I've made it to level 14.
My stats have increased across the board with me being mostly fast and strong, and I figured it would be most efficient to take the +3 stat increase reward for my daily quest, as the random box can have some pretty useless items if I'm unlucky, and the status restore is a just a "feel better" gift.
But recently I decided I should finally go to that dungeon with this key that I got, since we haven't been given any non-paper assignments outside of PE, meaning I have the afternoon to myself. This key opens at the fountain, so... Will anyone else see it?
I arrive at the fountain and glance around. The moment I feel no eyes on me, I use the key and enter an invisible portal, disappearing into a distorted version of Remnant. Beacon is unchanged at first until I see a large pillar collapse, falling next to what I can only assume is a monster... Well, here we go. I equip my +10 weapons and prepare for the worst as I begin my fight.
"Ah! I know (Y/N) said today is the one day he'll be out, but where is he? I need his help with something!" Ruby says to her older sister.
Yang rolls her eyes slightly. "I know you like him, but you can survive a day without him, okay Rubes? Be patient."
Ruby blushes slightly in response before crossing her arms "It's not that, Yang... I need his help with training, and it's urgent."
"How on Remnant is it urgent? All we've been doing is boring homework and history tests." Yang points out.
"You don't get it, Yang! I need to train as much as I can in case we ever see that statue again!" She says, to which Yang replies "don't go on about that again. Only you two saw it, and one of you was passed out. You must have been seeing things. We all know there's no cave entrance that you two claim there was."
Ruby turns away. "You don't know anything... You weren't there... So don't act like it." She mumbles slightly, ticking off her older sister.
"What was that?"
"Don't worry about it." Ruby says with a sigh, hoping to drop this conversation, rather than start an argument with her sister.

"GAH!" I jump back as a centipede lurches at me, destroying the ground I was standing on moments before. "This thing isn't like those other bugs I fought before."
When first entering this dungeon, I fought bug-like creatures that essentially looked like normal bugs, but around my size, and carnivorous. Unfortunately they weren't cannibals, so the moment I showed up, I attracted them all to me. Thankfully my gun took out a decent chunk from afar, and my knife was able to swiftly defeat any that made it close.
However, a centipede that took no damage from my bullets, and whose exoskeleton is just hard enough to survive a slice from my dagger, has proven to be a challenge.
Eventually I realize that its face has no protection... So I go in for the kill! The moment it lurches at me, I stab right between its eyes, earning a gross shriek from it as blood spurts from the hole I created.
Since its close enough, I decide not to risk just stabbing once, and opt to get another clean stab in an untouched part of its face, watching as it falls limp to the ground.
Level Up 16↑
I've leveled quite a lot from these bugs, considering it took 2 months to get to 14... But I have no idea if I'm ready for what's ahead... I put some of my leftover skill points into the SENSE stat, since I get the feelings it's more useful than I've realized.
The moment my stats register, I can feel a dangerous presence coming from the base of "Beacon Tower."
"Here I go..." I say to myself, sprinting in the direction of the beast. Once I find it, I quickly begin firing bullets at it, only for them to immediately bounce off. This rolly-polly like insect curls into an impenetrable ball and begins spinning at me. I dodge over and over again as I look for an opening. But unfortunately, it only stops for a fraction of a second to look for my new location. And I don't have good enough aim to shoot its eye in that moment.
However, I get the smart idea to use my surroundings, as I highly doubt what happens here happens to Beacon. I get the bug to ram right into a thin buttress, resulting in the stone pillar above it crashing straight to the ground on top of it. Its armor shatters, and it crawls with the last of its energy, blood spilling out of its mouth.
"I've done it..." I say as I slowly approach it. "Now goodbye..." I finish, stabbing into the beast.

I was considering putting more of the daily bonus points into intelligence, but I don't feel much smarter now than I was before. I think my Aura reserve, which is what limits a Hunter's use of their ability(s), is what increases with that stat; and since I don't have any skills right now, it doesn't appear to be very useful.
But now that I've cleared this dungeon, I see a portal appear in front of me. I exit through the portal, resulting in me returning to Beacon Tower's base. It seems some kind of magic makes it so when I enter and exit portals, people nearby happen not to notice. But now that I'm back...
"Status restore..." I say, my muscles relaxing and body healing up. "Thank goodness I saved that." I say to myself, since I hadn't picked a reward after exercising like I usually would. Instead I'll be saving it for times I need them.
"(Y/N)!!" I hear my name being yelled. I turn to where the noise is from and see the usual face, Ruby. She hugs me tightly. "I know you said not to bother you today, but could you help me train?" She begs.
I look at the item store and find a dagger that looks cooler and has better stats. I also notice gauntlets, made from the scales of the Rolly-Polly I defeated, in my inventory. I press the equip button for the gauntlets and see no outward appearance of them, so they're essentially invisible armor...
Good. I'd look stupid if they could be seen.

Physical Damage Reduction +1.5%
