"(Y/N), we never did get to battle."

"Pyrrha? You actually want to fight me?"

"Why yes, I do. You're probably the most talented student here."

"Really? Not you? The winner of the Vytal Festival years in a row?"

"I'm not so prideful that I would ignore your talent."

"Heh... Well, I propose we wait for the tournament, and THEN have our duel."

Pyrrha smiles. "That sounds like a plan."

"Damn, she actually challenged you?"

After having explained what Pyrrha said to me this morning, Yang clocks in, clearly a bit surprised.

I nod. "I definitely need to make sure I don't go easy on her... I'm confident I can win, but I don't have a clue how easy it'll be."

"Easy definitely won't be what you'll describe the fight as... I'm sure of it."

Hearing this, I lean back in my chair.

Waiting for class to start has one major problem.

The bell always rings at the best part of the conversation...

It's Professor Oobleck-

"Doctor Oobleck."

"Sheesh, can this guy read minds or somethin?"

Class begins aaaaaaand... Yeah, nothing interesting happens.

My grades aren't the highest, but I'm above average, so there's really nothing for me to think about in that respect.

However, Professor Ozpin gave a lecture today.

He explained the quick history of the Vytal Festival, how it was a way for the four kingdoms to come together and ignore the war that had been waged back then.

And it was decently interesting. I was just most excited about the actual battling aspect. I'll be able to see how far I really have come...

"It will start off as a team event, and then eventually result in one-on-one battles. So you would do well to ensure your entire team is prepared."

I look at the three girls I work with. Yeah, I don't need to worry... Yang's a monster, Ruby could kill a man if she stopped being so cute about it, and Blake has clearly seen some shit. She didn't get this strong from nothing.

Let alone the fact that I can hide at least one shadow in each of them to pick up on any slack when necessary.

Yeah, we've got this in the bag...

"And to anyone that thinks they've got this in the bag, you had better not assume this will be the case."

Mind reading again...?

"There are always students that are believed to be the favorites to win the tournament, and are suddenly taken down by a girl half their age."
