I see Ruby drooling as she looks at me, so I raise an eyebrow in confusion. "Is something wrong? You thinking about cookies you'll make tonight?"

"Uh, yeah! That's it!" She says, wiping off her lip.

In Ruby's head, her thoughts are about the thick arms (Y/N) is showing off after his hoodie got ripped.

Why did my hoodie get ripped? Good question.

It all started when I was born. I was a cute baby that... What, you don't care? Wait, so you do care, but you want to hear where the hoodie ripping story actually starts? I mean, I guess I can start from there then...

We were told to get some honey during a trip to the Forever Fall forest. Jaune had been acting sus, according to the rest of his teammates, so I would glance in his direction every so often. At one point he disappears with Cardin. Now, unfortunately that wasn't my problem to butt in on, so at first I stayed back. But my sense skill, after having grown so much, made me unconsciously eavesdrop on their conversation.

I hear Cardin talking about wasps and angrily speaking of Pyrrha after she had correctly answered a question in class, thus embarrassing Cardin since he wasn't able to do so.

Since a friend of mine is about to be attacked, I'm obligated to do what's right. I sneak over to where I felt their presences, only to see a beat up Jaune defending Cardin from an Ursa. I quickly slash the stomach of this bear Grimm, watching it disappear.

Jaune speaks to Cardin, telling him to never get anywhere near his friends, which causes the scaredy-cat to run off.

"You alright, Jaune?" I ask, impressed at his bravery.

"I'm fine... I'm just glad Cardin wasn't able to release those wasps." He says, alluding to Cardin's original plan.

"I accidentally overheard that plan, so I originally came over here to prevent that. But I'm glad I was able to help." I say, patting his shoulder.

Jaune sighs slightly. "I have to apologize to my friends later... But for now, can you help me out?"

"You need to get some of the honey?" I ask, Jaune nodding.

I smile, nodding as well.

Later that night, I sense Jaune walking with Pyrrha to the roof, so I smile to myself. "Glad he's able to work it out." I say to myself, laying back in bed.

As school continues, nothing interesting happens, and every dungeon I visit proves to be quite easy, with me just gaining more items and EXP.

Armadillo Lord's Chest Plate
Rarity: C
Type: Armor
Physical Damage Reduction +5%
Made from the leftovers of the Armadillo Lord, providing for a tough defense from physical attacks.

Black Knight's Pants
Rarity: C
Type: Armor
Physical Damage Reduction +3%
Gained from defeating one of the Black Knights found in the Armadillo King's tower (Based off of the real world's Beacon Tower)

Thankfully my strength stat is high enough to prevent all of this armor from weighing me down, as they all have that possible side effect.

I'm still my strong, fast self.

This, unfortunately, leads to me fighting battles I know I can handle. But I end up dragging my teammates, who I've passed up in skill, into it, making them almost a burden.

After one particular school-approved mission, Yang finally approached me with her concerns.

"(Y/N), you keep getting off track from the mission... We shouldn't have taken on this guy, and instead just confirmed his position."

I look down at the wanted man I had just defeated before looking around to see my teammates exhausted from his surprisingly competent underlings.

"Yang, I just defeated a wanted man... I'm sorry, but if you guys can't keep up with me, I'm not going to stop myself from improving just so you all can feel safer. Keep up or stop whining."

To be fair, those words were pretty damn rude. I deserved the slap Yang gave me.

However, what I said proved to be worse than I was expecting, as I suddenly had a hard time getting along with Blake and Yang.

Ruby has always had some kind of soft spot for me, so when I told her that my words were out of line and I felt bad for them, she understood.

But now she's also being given sideways glances for actually giving me a chance.

During one of our breakfast periods...

"Hey Ruby, why are you siding with the guy that said he'd leave us behind, when your sister is right here?" Yang blurts out, causing Ruby to put her fork down.

"Because he feels sorry..." She mumbles.

"If he feels sorry, why hasn't he apologized to me, yet?"

I speak up. "Yang, stop attacking your sister. I've tried apologizing to you multiple times, but you always end the conversation the moment I say the word apologize. You can't throw apology around when I've tried so desperately to come clean with what I did."

Being honest with myself, I'm pissed off that I let my attitude lead to this mess.

Yang raises an eyebrow. "I don't recall ever hearing you try to apologize to us."

Ruby speaks up as well. "Yang, (Y/N) already apologized to me and Blake."

Yang turns to Blake in surprise, and sees the black-haired girl nod.

"W-well... I don't want to hear an apology, okay? What you said was rude and uncalled for."

"I know."

Yang is taken aback

"Yang, we all make mistakes. Does that make what I said okay? No. Do you have to forgive me? No. Blake doesn't forgive me, but I'm glad she heard what I said, because she now knows that I understand I was in the wrong. My words were out of line, and I've hoped to make amends with you because we're teammates, so we have to work together for better or worse." I finish, leaving the table to put my plate away.

Yang looks to the side. "Tch." She lets out, leaving the table as well.

Blake looks at Ruby as if to say "I'll make sure Yang is okay... You can go talk to him."

I sense Ruby behind me, so I turn to see her saddened face. "I'm sorry my sister was so mean." She mumbles

I shake my head. "Ruby, don't apologize for what she did. Besides, I'm not exactly proud of spouting those words off... I said something messed up, so I got what was coming to me. I'm just glad you forgive me." I finish, patting her head as I prepare for class.

Ruby blushes and watches her crush exit the cafeteria, before finding her sister to reconcile.
