Cam had played his role for the day, feigning interest in Luce, handing her a guitar pick with his room number on it. While all of it had still gotten a rise out of Daniel, which amused him as it always did, his mind was elsewhere. Three seats to his left to be exact. He felt sure that if he focused his senses enough he might be able to drink in more of her floral scent.

The class seemed endless. Usually the passing of mortal time was lost on the demon, but when those hours were spent agonizing over revealing the truth to Victoria they felt like an eternity.

No wonder Daniel's always so uptight when this is all he ever thinks about.

Cam knew he didn't want to be like his counterpart in that regard. The way Daniel always revealed these secrets to Luce irritated him. He would never do that to Victoria, he wouldn't dream of it. He was always upfront with her, he felt that was how it should be. Then again, it wasn't the only thing he and Daniel didn't agree on.

He knew there was a good chance she wouldn't like this truth, in fact it wouldn't surprise him in the least if she aimed an energy field to his head; although he knew they'd both laugh about it. Having a girlfriend who didn't periodically burst into flames every time you told her something moderately important definitely had it's advantages. Better a match made in hell then in heaven.

Cam sighed again, as if it would help lighten the load. If Roland was right and Victoria's timeline was up, and this was to be how they met. Then she really did have no knowledge of her past, what side she came from or what she was.

With that golden glow, Cam felt certain she had to be with him. Even if she wasn't, he'd love her all the same. However, the demon seal she bore, that bound her to him was strong evidence. The more he thought about tearing off her clothes to gaze at it, the slower time seemed to tick by.

Door number 44 was covered completely in pictures space, bumper stickers from various states and assorted causes. My favorite was easily a black and white bumper sticker in the top right corner that read 'Adults on board we want to live too', the fact it made me chuckle was a painful reminder that I'd been nervously standing in front of the door, reading the signs as a way to justify not having knocked.

I raised my hand, and knocked gently, spurred on by an immense need to have him touch me again, despite the other Victoria.

The door immediately flew open, as if he'd been waiting directly behind it for my knock. A devilish grin spread across his face, it was exactly the kind that made a girl giddy. My stomach twisted in knots. To my great surprise he stepped forward, reached a hand out to grasp the small of my back, while the other closed the door as promptly as he'd opened it.

Once the door was closed, his eyes searched mine, and he sighed, smirking at me. My heart was racing, causing my breathing to be embarrassingly quick and shallow. He stood perfectly still, like a statue whose only purpose was to gaze at me.

"I can only think of one place you'd rather be than here." He said, his voice low and intoxicating, a lively look gleamed in his eyes, its effect was energizing.

"What makes you think I like it here?" I raised an eyebrow at him, this time his smile met his eyes, and they crinkled slightly. The image made my head feel light, it was like experiencing De-ja-vu under the influence.
