"But mother! Please, I want to go to Jade Mountain!" I whined pulling against the harness.
"Not until you are older!" she hissed, pulling me close.
"Fine," I muttered under my breath.
"Now let's go! We have some old friends to visit"
I was dragged along with Mother and my sister Anemone. I was the youngest and got the most attention from my mother. A little too much sometimes. It was kind of annoying being the youngest. Anemone was the best family member though. She played with me and showed me how to fish, she was perfect and I wanted to be just like her.
"Anemone can we play after we visit some 'old friends'?" I asked trotting up to Anemone.
"Of course little Lapis" she whispered.
"Yay!" I exclaimed, jumping up and down.
We flew out of the Summer Palace and flew up to the top level, that is where the visitors usually go. I saw out of the corner of my eye a black shadow.
"Mama? Who is visiting?" I asked flying up to mother
"Queen Blister my love" she answered. We landed softly next to Blister.
"Good evening, your highness." Blister snarled. "You brought the misfit I see"
"Hey!" I squeaked in protest . "I'm not a misfit!"
"SILENCE LAPIS!" Mother roared.
Blister chuckled and the guards flew up and dived down into the water. I watched as Blister embraced mother in a hug. Blister shot me a glare and continued to hug my mother.
"Now let us get down to business Coral" Blister sneered. "How is the training doing with Anemone? Is she ready for battle?"
"Almost she still needs to master the enchantment your greatness" Mother said. I turned my head and saw Anemone wincing.
"Mama can I go play with Anemone and go to the beach?" I asked
"Yes you may." she answered.
I bounded over to the end and dove down into the water. I looked behind me as I opened my wings, Anemone was gliding down towards me. Before I hit the water I soared upwards and opened my wings. I looked down and saw Anemone dive into the water. I giggle softly and dove into the water. The water was crystal clear and I looked around, trying to find Anemone but she was nowhere to be found. I flashed my scales bright and still couldn't find her. I swam upwards towards the surface, I flew out of the water and up towards the top level.
"Mama! I can't find Anemone!" I exclaimed.
"My apologies your highness" Mother said. "Anemone was with you I thought"
"Lapis I'm right here" Anemone said landing on the smooth tiles of the Summer Palace.
"There you are!" I squeaked. Anemone embraced me in a loving hug.
"Queen Coral! We must speak alone" I heard Blister say.
